Well greg BF3 runs max setting 1920x1200 no artifacting at all :\

I thought BF3 was demanding? or is that above this res?

Well no artifacting yet, only had 1 game but it seems really stable. If i cant find any other games that artifact it must be skyrim? Unless skyrim uses most VRAM so it could be a VRAM issue?
I guess you already tried, but have you forced vsync on, also try forcing AA/AF at various levels, see if it makes a difference?

Yeah all tried, Vsync is always on with skyrim since its a console port i guess. No difference at all with any settings, tried everything i can and cant fix this.

Good news is during boot up it hasnt glitched in while, but the fact if it doesnt play skyrim what happens when another cool game comes along and it doesnt wanna play that either?

Im trying to see where ill end up with this card because if i accept i cant play skyrim and then find out later on that more of my games are glitched it will be too late to get my money back.

sessshh some people are so finicity. it looks like it's been opened, maybe it was opened for testing, maybe it was supposed to be used for a rig but they decided not to and put it back in the box. As long as it works fine then just keep it. If there are faults to it you can always use the warranty later. You can't expect everything to be pristine and immaculate. Also it's goingt o get fingerprints on it within 5 seconds of you opening it, so I don't see the big deal in someone else opening it and leave prints inside.

FIXED!

This is what i had to do to fix this mind bogling bug!

Its still early days so it may come back but atleast its fixed for now!

I had to wipe skyrim and all drivers, i had to then install the drivers but not skyrim. Played BF3 for an hour. I installed 12.8 again, i think maybe it was corrupted still or maybe skyrim had something from 12.11 or 12.10 still on it? I havent a clue.

I then installed skyrim, then installed the high textures mod.

Running skyrim now, early in the morning i know but its doing my head in!

Works perfect no artifacting or nothing, i still think 12.11 i get much better frame rates though.

If any further glitching happens ill give up and RMA for an Nvidia lol.

Without the 12.11 drivers i do lose a lot of perfomance in the rest of my games, but atleast i can play them all with no bugs (well i hope so havent tested half yet)

Still the point is if i pay for new i should get new, if its opened its not new is it?

Also my PC does not bottleneck the card i have a Q9450 @3.2 if it is a bottleneck its very little.

12.11 appear buggy for me in crossfire. Blue screens'r'us.

Am testing tonight to make sure the second card is OK on its own first before firming up that conclusion.

And I need to speak to Locky :D. Where is he?!

Have you got Afterburner unlocked? because if i unlock afterburner on my 7970 i do get glitches on desktop but if i go back to the original unlocked i dont get it.

OP your cpu will struggle a little on high settings. My 9550 and 570 is fine but with Nexus mods on skyrim, my cpu can hit 90% on all cores at times.

Nothing wrong with an i7 950, if he OCs it a bit more it'll last for a good while longer.

Agreed... if only the OP had an i7 950 ;)

My PC Hardware is;

Q9450
4GB corsair Ram
7850
750W PSU
Samsung 24" Syncmaster 245B
Cosmos S case
MB is an ASUS Rampage Formula x48 chipset

It was a pretty nice PC on release costing around £2k
