New Case, for £60 not inc VAT

It lowers my temps everytime so no idea whats happening with yours anyway the eclipse seems flawed to me but i bow to your greater knowledge.Doesnt it suck in cool air then turns it into warm air blows the warm hd area air into the case ?

Explain why it is consistently the best cooling case for at least the past 5 years?

With my S80b what is happening is the cooling inside my case with the contained airflow from lower CFM fans being concentrated in the areas it is need providing appropriate levels of cooling to my components.

Not a huge fan just shooting air everywhere.

My case is cooled by one 5v Akasa Amber case wise, never tops above 40 inside the case. :)

7800gt = 50deg playing wow for 2 hours.

My 4400 is on water so it is not a fair comparison.

There is absolutely no need for more than 120mm in and 120mm out in a modern computer case providing it is designed well and the distance between the two fans is not extreme or majorly obstructed.

Why do you need to keep lowering the temps though, if it is stable?

Because people laugh when I tell them my Scorpio case reports a case temperature of 70deg from the motherboard. ;)

Oh yes, but if they are both stable and one is noisy and the other is whisper quiet / silent which would you go for then?

Don't get me wrong i have'nt ordered yet it's either eclipse lian li v1000 or silverstone tj09.I like the eclipse but it's like
what £120+ delivered with side window and fans that is only £30 less than the silverstone tj09 hmm...Also what happens in the summer to an eclipse with only 2 fans methinks the temp rises a lot without any option for more fans unless you mod it.And ive noticed a lot of people adding top exhaust fans to the eclipse which begs the question why if it's perfect.

For overclocking i'd rather have an overclocked 6600 at 50c full load
than 65c anyday.

My overclocked e6300 is under 50c load, with the side on and no massive fans :p Which is good as it giives me room for when I run it passively with only 2 x 750rpm case fans ;)

Because they want to, but it is not needed that is why.

2 fans is more than enough to cool during the summer, I have a feeling the PC7+ crowd would have been up in arms at me in the summer of 2005 and 2006 for recommending it to so many, yet never had a complaint or thread about bad temperatures in an Eclipse or PC7+II in my times on these forums.

I am far from the Eclipse's biggest fan, however its one strong point is the cooling that given a sensible noise level is un-rivalled.

The TJ-09 and V1000 are brilliant cases (I would love one myself) but the eclipse is better at cooling. You can get good fans for about £3.50-£5 each (Arctic cooling or zalman) and the window isn't exactly a necessity so it is closer to £100 delivered with decent fans.

I had a PC7 which is similar in layout to the Eclipse but slightly more obstructive and I ran it with 2 fans, in summer when it was regularly hitting 35c + in my room. The only thing overheating was me :/

Could you link to some of these mods to the eclipse? The only time I have seen fans fitted tot he top are to allow for water cooling rads to be mounted.

So the eclipse is better than a v1000 and tj09 ?

For low noise cooling, yes. Better at any kind of cooling than the V1000+ by a little way, the sheer amount of fans might make the TJ-09 better if you are using high powered/noisy fans and the airflow isn't really being disrupted.

Hardly out of the necessity for cooling better. May just be out of the desire some people have or the idea lots have that more fans means better cooling, yet it is far from it. May also be for rad mountings. :)

If the case was not capable of cooling better than most other cases on the market it would not be recommended.

All it would take is a few people to have cooling problems for its reputation here to be destroyed, however that is so unlikely to happen as you could cool an oven in one.

They may have just put in blow holes for looks. I personally think they look great, plus they are a very easy mod to do on an Eclipse as the top panel is easily removable.

Nope, it is a perfectly capable case that looks a lot better. Depends what is more important to you, it won't be a whole lot worse at cooling.

Edit: And looking through the eclipse thread there are two cases with blowholes that I saw, both have water cooling.

Decision made looks arent that important it's room great cooling
and layout that are of importance to me.£123 for eclipse + 2 akasa ambers or noctua and side window it is then.So it's not a perfect case then if you need to mod it for watercooling.
Would still like to see a graph proving at the same rpm and setup the eclipse is the lowest temp to noise ratio.
