hey, I have been having some major problems with blue screens, random restarting etc (long story) and have been reading up for months on trying to sort this problem out... so I have come to the conclusion that it is getting too hot inside the case. The reason I think it is the heat is because today has been pretty damn hot and it has been giving me problems constantly. Im fed up of having a huge house fan next to it which makes so much noise.. and seeing I spent like £100 on this case I dont want to have it with the side off.

But anyway... can anyone recommend me a case with VERY good cooling, LOTS of space and overall a good case... Im willing to spend any amount.. obviously not £500 or something stupid but I just want to sort it out.

Thanks

EDIT: oops my bad I forgot to say my setup

AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
1GB ram (not sure how you see what make etc. lol)
Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT
some sound card from No competitor talk please!, a pos :)

What are your actually temps and specs?

If you spent £100 on the case, it would seem a wiser solution to invest in some decent fans and coolers and maintain the hardware inside, like remove dust and reseat heatsinks

:)

well the thing is, this case really is quite small inside.. everything seems pretty close and ive tried everything, getting dust out, reseating etc.

I just want to try a new case now, im fed up with it so much that I dont mind spending some more cash.

Sorry if I have glanced over, but what case do you have currently as it could just be a slightly wrong fan configuration causing the issues?

Akasa Eclipse 62 is a ugly plastic fronted case but it offers the best possible cooling, especially with the blowhole side panel.

If you want all out cool then that is the case to opt for, PC7+ is another option although the FX55 depending on your clock and heatsink (also which fx55 it is) can get a little toasty in one, but probably a lot less than at the moment.

I ran a fx55 in a PC7+ with 80mm rear for a while, it was a good combination but the Eclipse is the better option, especially if you wish to run multiple hard drives.

the case its currently in is a Coolermaster Wave Master - Silver (No PSU) (CA-037-CM) but in blue.

Im not overclocking any of the PC and using a ThermalRight XP-90 (Socket 754/939/478) Heatsink (HS-018-TR)

I think it is mainly the graphics card getting too hot too, if that makes any difference. Im not bothered about looks anymore, just want the damn thing to be stable.

Thanks

ok had a look at the Akasa Eclipse 62 Aluminium Case & Window (BU-000-AK)

it looks good and if you recommend it then ok :D

do you know if i have to buy fans extra with that aswell? if so which ones would the right size?

Yeah well I will have no use for the wavemaster after, how much would he/she pay?

Thanks

I suggest that before u go spending money u get temp monitoring program and find out what your temps are. Do a google for speedfan. It has a temp chart so u can observe your temps over time. Find out what temps you are getting and report back, im sure we can advise you if this is actually causing the problem. After all if u get a new case and its still crashing your gonna be annoyed.

Its just the icon for high temperature, its nothing major.

I would not be worried by a temperature of 52 on my CPU, at 60 I would start being a little aprehensive but 52 is well within manufacturer specification for the CPU.

What PSU are you running?

i just read that the Remote is the core temp for GPU, i dont know much about this technical stuff though. THe problem I have been having has been annoying people for months and from reading up on it I came to the conclusion it was to do with the graphics card overheating, so if that is the one causing it then whats the best way of cooling it down?

edit: sorry the PSU i am using is an Enermax something, cant remember the power :/

The graphics at 52 is fine, lower than my temps on a 7800gt!

What are your temperatures after coming out of a game for a hour or so?

Your temperatures really do seem fine to me, nothing out of the ordinary at all.

Although you could get half the money towards a new case easily back from your current one, your choice mind but I do not think that your temperatures are cause for concern.

You will need 360w+ for your rig, Enermax are a good brand so I doubt it could be the cause, but it seems that, or the RAM are the most likely candidates from what you have said so far.

52 degrees is nothing to worry about unless thats an idle temp. 52 for a gpu is fine, my 6800 peaks at 80. Download prime95 and check which temp rises the most when its stress testing this will show you your cpu temp.

well i can try running a game for a bit now, but the problem is it will probably do the blue screen hehe

thanks for your advice anyway

When it BSOD write down the number, and then on restart check what your temperatures are. :)

You can tell a lot from the number.

You don't by any chance have a NF4 board with NVIDIA IDE and Firewall installed?
