New case - which out of these 2 and why?

+1 for the silverstone

I have both and the build quality on the siverstone is far better.
The cooling in the pc7 i always found to be lacking unless you use high airflow fans and then the side panels rattle
The ft01 hasw great airflow,plenty of room and lots of hard drive caddies.
But for the same price as the pc7 i would get the coolermaster cm690.It can have up to seven fans easy to tidy the cables and plenty of room

Thanks for that. I have looked at the CM690, and although it fits the bill pretty well, it's quite a bit too deep for my desk unfortunately. (Max 500mm deep)

Going to think this through another bit. It might be a better solution all round to plump for a larger desk, which will then give me much less restrictions when buying my new case.

Nice choice Diggsy.
The only thing's i don't like on the ft01 is the dust filter on the top intake 180mm fan and the toolless dvd latches.Which can be removed and screws used to hold dvd drives in place.
After this case i have become a silverstone fanboy.

Cheers mate. I've read about the issue with the filter. Hopefully it can be vaccumed from the outside with the system off. If not I might just remove it and see if I can somehow get it to fit below the fan.

I have also bought one of the Silverstone hot swap bays so that I can install the HDD's up top and remove the lower cages to let the air flow better through the case. Not sure if it'll fit though, so will see what happens.

Looking forward to getting it all up and running. Might do a build log if: A. I can remember, and B. I can be bothered to take pics rather than just getting it running!
