New complete gaming Build

Patriot Viper V730 mechanical keyboard, brown khail switches for £40
Logitech G402 for £17

Both can he found on the rainforest website.

I'm using both myself.

The keyboard is amazing, I almost bought something much more expensive but I'm extremely happy I took a chance on this board. For a mechanical keyboard of this quality you're generally looking at paying almost double, it has a very sturdy aluminium body and a lovely red and black braided cable. The keys feel fantastic for general use, I'd say the Khail switches are about 90-95% as good as the more expensive Cherry MX switches. Being brown they have tactility, so they're fantastic to type on while still being excellent for gaming. It has a red back-light, so no RGB but there's still a bunch of display settings. Very smart and solid piece of it, I can't recommend it enough.

The mouse is also a steal at the price point, seems that Amazon is trying to clear out stock at the moment so they're going dirt cheap. I got mine for £15 a few weeks back, I'd have still been happy with it if I'd spent £40-50.

I'd recommend looking at some reviews for them, but I can't see you doing better for less than £60 for both.

I'd wait on others input as they may have better recommendations, but with your budget I'd be considering these. I'm not a fan of TN panels at all, I find that they look washed out and have awful colour reproduction. My preference is IPS, plenty of people like VA as a middle ground.

My preference would be the 1440P screen, granted it's only 75hz but it's a higher resolution and larger physical screen size, and as mentioned I prefer IPS anyway. Games are generally going to look better on it than they will on the other option, but if your intent is to play a lot of twitch shooters at a competitive level you may well be better off with the 144hz VA option, it also has a lower response time in its favour for that sort of game.

You can actually get the Q3279VWFD on the rainforest website for under £200.

27" 1080p is fine for gaming if you don't mind that it's not great for crisp text. If it's a multi-purpose screen then stick to 24".

The B-Grades only have 3-month warranty. Take care you don't overpay for it compared to new from elsewhere.

Be sure to let us know how everything goes once you receive all your parts.

The three month warranty is with OCUK, it's actually possible depending on the item and why/when it was returned for there to be remaining manufacturers warranty.

You would need to get OCUK to verify though.

They've said in the past that with B-Grade it's all down to the manufacturer. Gigabyte tend to provide the full warranty from manufacture date, for example. But it's a grey area with no real promises as they can always ask for proof of purchase and decide full warranty does not apply (even though that doesn't tend to happen). Not sure what AOC's policy is.

Yeah, it can be a bit of an iffy area.

I've bought B grade stock before and been absolutely fine, but I do tend to get as much information as I can out of OCUK prior. Never bought anything from AOC, although I'd be tempted if I was offered a good enough deal.

Glad to have been of help buddy.

Hope you love the keyboard and mouse as much as I do!

Use your TV in the interim for setting things up while waiting for your monitor to arrive.

I would have spent the extra for the better version of the 5700XT (Gigabyte Gaming OC). That MSI Mech is not that great.

Is it really that bad. If so what model would you have recommended as I haven’t started building my pc maybe I can change it if it’s really that bad.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

This is probably the best deal on a 5700XT at the moment.

The MECH is often cited as being bad due to a teardown on the similar Evoke by Gamers Nexus. MSI have since claimed to Gamers Nexus that they would fix the issues with newer versions of the card, whether that's the case with yours is unknown unless you actually install it. If you do install the card and find that it's running hot/loud you should be able to return it to OCUK within a set time period.

It's up to you what you want to do, the Gigabyte is the better card at £25 more.
