New computer build.

They were going to send me new ones, then arrange for the other ones to be picked up. I have just got off of the phone and they are trying to get me to accept this one:

This one looks worse in some respect than the one I have now. And I have no idea what this one is like. The other thing is this new monitor is £190 on the dell site, and when I checked the u2311h previously on their site it was £238. I will have a look at that other monitor.

Thanks guys.

EDIT:
That's even more annoying because I did'nt know they were replacing these monitors. I will have to try and get this new one through them somehow. Tell them to wait and give me that one lol. I really don't know what to do, might have to just ask for a refund.

Don't accept Dell's replacement and wait for the U2312HM (don't forget the H, it signifies the 16:9 aspect ratio in the model name).

Thanks for the responses. Yes I agree, no way am I taking that. The only problem is I bought these monitors through a reseller. I don't know how I should go about refunds.

Currently got an Intel quad core q6600, with 4gb of ddr2. Was thinking of going for an upgrade:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor 155.99
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 53.99
MSI P67A-G45 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard 99.98
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler 22.98
Total: £332.94

My only concern is will the ram be ok with that CPU and mobo? Or is it overkill? Would 4gb be just as good? How will the ram affect my chances of overclocking?

I will have to make sure they refund the seller then, and then the seller refunds me. I think I will then wait for this new monitor, as it should be out anytime soon. And Stulid I like the look of that new monitor :P

Anyone? Or am I asking in the wrong section?

Oh sorry for that. I thought this was just a general thread for new build advice. I was trying to keep things tidy rather than starting another new thread.

My apologies.

Thought I would just keep you guys updated. After all this time I am finally having the faulty monitors collected from me. I will then hopefully be refunded soon after. Then I think I am going to wait and purchase the U2312HM when it is released.

I believe it is being released towards the end of August?

Thanks guys :)

Hey guys, am finally getting round to test my computer. Not even done it yet because I have only just received the refund for my monitors!

I am just running prime95 for my first time. And am on the run a torture test window. Which one should I choose?

Sorry about quality:

Thanks guys :)

Hey Ollie, thanks for your response. Hope you are ok :) I will do that first then and see what happens. Going to do it tommorow now and I will post on here what the result is.

Thanks again :)

One other thing, it is okay to do this even though I have not overclocked my processor? I just want to check for stability, but whenever I read about prime people always talk about overclocking.

Thanks just don't want to set fire to my rig! :D
