I like the professional sleek look of the STX for example but for gamers and those who like bright, in your face trinkets will find this card very nice looking indeed! Its got some of the appeal of the X-Fi and the Xonar all rolled in to one..

I shall be testing these against an X-Fi fatality and an STX hopefully over the weekend so I shall share my thoughts when I have done so :)

Lets hope Creative make some decent stable drivers this time.
Not sure on the price though,They seem quite expensive...much rather have a decent Asus card.

these have been out about 3-4 months in the states - they havnt sold that well (from what I can tell) - think the drivers have some issues.

Although they look like they could be good - and its sort of wierd there are literally no reviews on them.

Im looking to get a new card myself just wondering which one etc ... Im still using a audigy 2 and its getting old (mic doesnt work with windows 7 64 bit) so really need a new card.

Yeah. Creative's drivers have been terrible for a very long time.

very very true, that's why i moved away from them to asus and haven't looked back.

asus for me coupled with my z5500's are truly a awesome set up and will not go back to creative.

What about the D2/x as lots of people have these and game with them.

Expensive compared to alternatives perhaps but I remember the days of AWE cards with EMU chips on them, Gravis Ultrasounds, and the 'pro' choice Turtlebeach cards being double+ these prices even without taking cash depreciation into account. So not that bad for the featureset in my eyes.

Wow,

Sound cards are starting to get lookers lol.

the problem with creative is this, nothing wrong with the hardware its the drivers that controll it, which renders them useless i used to have a XFI fat or however you spell it.

It was a awsome sound card, when it worked.... So a bit like a Alfa Romeo when it works its awsome, when it don't well you know..

Xonars drivers have been better for me at least they work.....mostly....

That would be pointless really to begin with.

If it compares well to the best in the range then it would not be beneficial to compare to the D2/X as you know itll just be better.

If its worse then yes, adding a D2/X to the mix will be the next step.
