You're right but there is a big difference in quality. At the villeroy shop the lady basically launched a plate at the floor to prove a point lol.I get why Le Creuset pans are expensive as they're bombproof and will last hundred of years if looked after.
DinnerwareSomeone is going to drop one, chip one, scratch one because surely they're just made like normal plates and bowls?
Seems crazy to spend so much money on something like that when stuff just as good can be had for a quarter of the price.
This is from a guy who has a 4090![]()
inherited the mother in law's Le Creuset Cast Iron Casserole dish - she reckons it's 50+ years old.... Works a treat still.I get why Le Creuset pans are expensive as they're bombproof and will last hundred of years if looked after.
don't think so - cereal bowls that have a large diameter flat base, as opposed to bowl shaped, if you put milk in them to 3/4" to enable you to get some milk with each spoon of cereal,Are you mixing up the wider Pasta bowls with the deeper cereal bowls?
... Certainly pricier than IKEA or your local supermarket stuff but I'd expect the quality to be far better - LC do state they can be used in the freezer down to -23°C)and in the oven upto 260°C whereas the cheaper £50-100 sets are 120°C and not in freezer at all. Now I don't plan on using them as such but my train of thought would be - if they can withstand a much bigger range of temps, they need to be tougher.just buy them if you like them. Spend what you want unless your having to finance some plates.
I like Sea salt. Do you only need 4 plates for couples nights?
Chris Wilson is that you?I use my favourite saying for dinnerware, white is right.
I personally find any other colours look a bit off,
Semi serious? Nothing but seriousity (is that a word?) going on here! This thread is why OCUK forums are just so goodmakes me chuckle from solving the middle east crisis to a serious semi discussion about dinner plates.
I tip my hat to you good sirs.
i must smash a plate or bowl at least yearly.. maybe i'm really unusually clumsy.I'd go for the white ones personally.
I break so many plates that i could never spend that much on themi must smash a plate or bowl at least yearly.. maybe i'm really unusually clumsy.
I can't afford a corner sofa, nor a gucci belt, these are definitely out of my price range!Okay not going to lie - These black plates look amazing.
