New duvet

Dunelm

That link takes you straight to the duvets. There's a price listing at the side if you want to pick out how much you want to spend.. Pretty good website for a company that sells bed sheets.
Hope this helps!

A nice feather duvet can be had for £50. Yeah down is nice but feathers are perfectly fine. I'll never go back to having a £3 Argos duvet ever again though (and not just because it went bust..."

I wouldn't buy a duvet filled with feathers out of choice. Feathers are no good at keeping birds (of the avian variety :p) warm, so why should they be any good for us?

If anyone happens across a blanket in their search for a duvet I wouldn't mind knowing where to get one. I'm not a big fan of duvets.

Can someone recommend a pair of pillows to me?

I currently have a pair of duck down pillows which are ok but (this will sound silly) They don't have enough support(too soft?) and feel too hard on the side of my head, almost sore.

So i'm looking for a comfortable cossy pillow which offer support for all sleeping positions.

:)

oh and has argos gone bust? The shop on town is still open and the website is still up.

What gives you the idea that Argos have gone bust?

For the record, Argos are very much in business and are one of the more successful retailers out there.

I really like Snuggledown hollowfibre duvets but a 13.5 tog extra thick extra fluffy one is unlikely to be more than about £75. £200 will get you a goose down one. Personally I don't like feathers in my duvet; I don't like the dust and I don't like the pointy ends that eventually find their way out the duvet.

Ikea duvets are rubbish. They weigh a ton, they're thin and aren't warm at all.

John Lewis and M&S home have a good selection.

Since earlier this year I've been sleeping with the window open and just a sheet over me. It's starting to get cooler now, which is why I want the blanket, but I still want the window open, unless we go to minus ten or some kind of foreign weather.

That's another reason why you don't buy a feather duvet - down is what you want. No pointy bits.

As for the dust (a.k.a. dander), that's a common problem. The solution is washing the down lots. Many companies wash their down the bare minimum of twice. A few wash theirs 10-15 times. No dust.

Wilkinson for the win: use it for a season and then donate it to the dogs home; no washing, no smelly, stained duvet ...... simples. I buy a 10.5 tog for the winter and something silly like 3.5tog for the summer; each one costs about £15.

Each to their own but **** me! why anyone would spend that sort of money is beyond my comprehension.

i bought a 3.5tog from matalan for £4 as my summer duvet

it's like sleeping under a teabag....things are getting chilly so up to the loft soon to retrieve my 15tog argos hollowfibre special and my slumberland electric blanket
