What's the verdict on the best music player? Google Play Music has for some reason decided to start chopping albums in half and removing random tracks from my folders when creating playlists. Which is nice

PowerAmp or GoneMad is what people seem to be using at the moment, I've use both and their both decent.

If your songs are star rated in the id3 tags then PowerAmp is not very good as it doesn't support the standard. GoneMad does.

In PowerAmp you must go through your music and re-rate them all just for PowerAmp.

That's why I switched to GoneMad.

+1 to PowerAmp and GoneMad. Shuttle is another to look at as well.

Personally using PowerAmp since there's also a Wear app for it too that allows me to select my tracks/playlist from my watch.

All folders in a list like this? No matter where they are on the sd card?

I don't see ther option. Folder on GoneMad seems just like a file manager type view.

Ah yes, that particular view is unique to PowerAmp, I thought you meant just browsing folders.

I use the Album or Artist view equivalent which is sort of similar in Gonemad. The drag bar on the right shows the letters when scrolling so easy to find artists/albums etc, which is essentially the same use I had for PowerAmp’s folder view as per your screenshot:

Comes to the same results and drilling down ability, but just done a different way I guess.

Ah ok. Album view on GoneMad brings up about 500 albums because it makes an album folder for every different track I have which is what I don't want.

Shouldn't be too hard for them to add the feature in the future. And tbh I'm happy with PowerAmp for the time being so I can wait.

Does anyone use Lux Dash? Useful app for giving you more control about the screen brightness, however like several other apps I don't appreciate it cluttering up my lock screen or notifications. I can't figure out how to stop it showing on either despite supposedly doing on in the app's settings.

EDIT - never mind. I assumed having the paid for version would supersede the free version, they act independently so it was the lite version still showing.

Does anyone have issues with caching/downloading songs from Google Music?

I've just got set up on my OnePlus One, thought rather than sitting on my phone selecting individual albums to download, I'll make a playlist called 'OnePlus One' on my PC, and then just check to download that on my phone. So it chugged away and downloaded about 4GB, great. I go on my morning commute and there's basically no songs there? The playlist is marked as downloaded but the songs aren't actually there on my device?

Just tested it on my nexus 5. No issues.
I had this before on my One S too. Just when I try to download playlists.

I was wondering too, if I can get it working, when you update the playlist on the PC will it update on the phone? As in download new files and/or delete deleted files?

Google should really make a built-in device playlist so you can manage your cached music from the PC..

Is there an app that let's you see your texts on your phone and respond to them? As seemless as possible would be nice. Hangouts integration would be perfect.

I'm assuming you mean an app you can use on another device that isnt your phone? I.e. see your texts on your PC?

If you mean this, Pushbullet can do this, and works with all messaging apps. However, this is only with replying. It's only with SMS that you can send a message that's not a reply.

Limbo is on for 71p at the Play store, a game I highly recommend!: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdead.limbo.full&hl=en

Played it on Steam and loved it.

Do you see the artists and albums if you navigate to them that way? I just tried sticking my phone on airplane mode.. And I can go in and play the playlist itself.. But if I go through my library to artist or album etc. I see none of them?
