Right that's made my decision very easy - ES seems to be taking over with some app analyser *******! Solid Explorer it is

Poweramp or GoneMAD. I prefer the latter because it's Material design and supports more standards. But Poweramp has the better audio engine (though GM is close!).

Not used poweramp for a while, can you link your play music account to it?

I use Poweramp. One niggle I have with it though is that I have all the albums on my phone in a playlist and once I've gone through one album it doesn't automatically skip to the next album in the list. Not sure if it's just me doing something wrong though.

+1 for gonemad. One thing I'm anal about and that is perfect gapless when listening to whole albums and it's handled everything I've got.

late edit: probably normal for android players but meh.
