New Focus Rs

Apparently the current generation RS is going to be the last for a while as ford want to concentrate on hybrids :(

Also i thought a mountune version of the RS was being release??

A hybrid RS? Dear lord.

What's so bad about it?

Or would you rather they ditch the performance range all together? Or find clever ways to still retain performance whilst lowering overall emissions? This is the way that perfomance cars are heading.

Because people who buy these car's don't care about emissions? And considering they aren't going to sell hardly any of these cars, it's not like it's going to save the environment.

But i think most of all, its the fact that petrolheads are seeing the slow demise of the internal combustion engine due to stupid tax's, obsession with the environment and speed cameras. Sure, it's going to be a hybrid this time, but in 10 years, what's the next RS going to be? A whizzy electric car? No. Just no.

Well sadly the people who make these cars HAVE TO CARE. So your **** out of luck.

Consider the fact that Ford as a company have a social responsiblity to lower emissions across the range and you might understand why they need to take these steps.

I dont see the problem with this TBH. A bit of KERS routed to the rear for 4wd + for more power... how long till its hacked and put on a button like an 09 f1 car!

If people cant see this is the way its going to go for performance cars then sucks to be you, time to wake up.

Personally I blame the prius for giving hybrid tech a bad taste in the mouth. When its on topgear and blows them away, you'll all be wanting one then.

Exactly what I was thinking, when applied to F1 nobody claims to dislike the momentary extra grunt that it gives :)

It isn't a bad thing, it just tars you with the same brush as this lot

Interesting.

Total output should be 300bhp, and with the engine driving the front wheels while the electric motor feeds the rears, the Focus RS will have incredible traction.

So it should be relatively kind to the birds and bees and also have better traction than the standard RS.

I like :)
