I bough a new freeview box but I seem to be missing channels. I have most of the ones I like except for E4 and E4+1 I have tried to manually tune my box but with no luck, on my old tv, e4 had one of the best receptions, yet now when I first tuned the box it came up with e4 but not receiving signal. After retuning, it completely disappeared. I am just wondering what I can do as I used to be able to receive it.

Don't simply retune. Do a factory reset / new install or whatever your particular box calls the "start right from the beginning" option. Also make sure you set the location information correctly. It is important.

Re-check the manual to make sure you have done a factory reset. Try it on a neigbours/friends/relatives TV see if you get the same result. If there are still channels missing then take it back and buy a different brand. However, if the test at another house is all good then it's an issue with your aerial system or there's something about your set-up that you haven't told us.

No an outside one on the roof. Sorry yeah, what I really meant was twist the aerial cable that goes into the back of my freeview box. Haha went I read that I can see were it could cause confusion.

So, new information... and potentially very important. If your cable has one of the screw-together aerial plugs fitted then please check that and, if needed, refit it correctly. Here's a guide with pictures: http://www.aerialsandtv.com/wiringup.html

If it is one of the pre-made moulded affairs from a wall socket then try swapping that cable.

Okay, is there any other information that you haven't mentioned? Is the aerial cable going through a VCR/DVD recorder, or are there any splitters before the signal gets to the box etc?
