It doesn't work.

I received my two cables today, I connected them correctly to the graphics card then powered on the PC.

The graphics card fans spin then the motherboard gives a single beep.

The hard drives shows activity then settles down so the operating system must be loading.

The screen is blank.

When I re install my original graphics card everything works fine.

So far I'm about £112 down and still have no display on screen.

So far i'm not overly impressed.

Help.................

Does anyone have an idea as to why this setup is not working. If not I'm left with a £100 graphics card that does not work.

It could be your PSU not supplying the GPU with enough power, it could be a faulty GPU etc. Is your mobo bios up to date?

Oh dear.

Could be motherboard issue that gave beep. I checked Gigabyte site and was not surprised they didn't provided new BIOS updates for GA-MA770T-UD3P but the original BIOS F12. Gigabyte been known to give very little or no BIOS update supports because they developed far too many motherboards and too many revisions but had no time to write new BIOS to fix bugs. If they had been write recently new BIOS for your motherboard to made full compatible with new graphics card such as Radeon 7950 and upwards then it would display graphic information on screen correctly.

I would suggest you to get a ASUS AM3 motherboard or upgrade to Intel ASUS motherboard with new Intel CPU.

I have a 700wt power supply.

I have no way of testing out the graphics card.

I do believe that I have the latest MoBO BIOS, I'll check.

I bought the graphics card after posting my system spec and following advice on this forum. This was not mentioned before forum members suggested I spend £100 on the graphics card then £12 on the cables needed to connect it.

do you have the 8 pin connector and the 6 pin connector plugged in correctly?
(just a thought iv not pushed cables in properly and that was my problem haha)
also try a different output on the gpu.
Worth a shot
