I could do with saving some cash! - might need to be less than £1200 budget
Probably best to restart the thread or start a new one with the new budget, because if we try to respec your PC by just 1 part then you can easily end up with an unbalanced system that doesn't make sense anymore.

Or a 12GB RTX3060 or TI perhaps?
At around £250 the RTX 3060 12GB still makes sense, but the performance is really what I'd consider entry-level at this point and not suitable for anything above 1080p longer-term.

The 3060 Ti isn't available anymore, from what I can see.

The RX 6800 Gray2233 suggests is pretty good value at £370 and the raster performance is way ahead of the 3060 (TPU's database have it as +65%).

The CPU comes with an HSF, but you could spend £15 on a Thermalright Assassin King which would be ample and do a better job.
agreed

PS: Be sure to make sure the card fits the case, it's a good size.
the £30 case isn't a bad deal. i have one of these too and can recommend

Just for reference, my existing gaming PC I put together xmas 2020 is:

Asus Radeon RX 570 ROG STRIX OC 8GB
MSI z490-A Pro
10400F 2.9ghz i5
16GB ram

My son has been playing games on that for the last year and I play Assetto Corsa occasionally, and it seems to run everything fine, so that's the level of performance he's currently been exposed to... Incidentally it's completely dead at the moment! - I swapped out the PSU and still the same so I suspect the mobo has died

so with a lot of flip flopping around...what is your actual budget?
it's pretty hard for us to recommend a spec if you don't have an actual budget :)

a £700 build will get you a radeon 7600, which is a gpu that is 2.5x faster than the rx570, with a ryzen 5600
a £1300 will get you the latest gen AM5 build with a 7900GRE (which is 4.5x faster than the rx570)

Why not build an AM4 system with a 5700x3d or something like that. Would save you loads of cash I reckon. Do you really need the latest and greatest?
