I have the following
Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
and I am looking for a new graphics card ;)
my current one is a ATI hd 5770 which despite a clean and new paste runs at 100 degrees + and shuts down the pc if the side case door is on !
I am looking for something which uses less power ideally and gamewise is exclusively for playing wow.
budget is no more than £90 is their any options available to me ?

Depends how high you run the settings and whether you raid.

Second hand 7950 would be what I'd choose at that price but you may struggle at £90.

**** for 90f i would buy second 7950. Wow is cpu dependent. On my setup i got 100fps maxed out in 25m lfr on 2D
So even 7850 will be good enough to play wow on ultra :)

Bearing in mind that no matter what CPU/GPU you have on wow, it will bring your system to its knees in certain situations.

With my system (Oced 3930k and SLI OCed GTX 670s and now GTX 780) in 40-man/outdoor raids on ultra settings during boss fights you will see 25 fps or below. Also in busy cities like SW or Shrine on a highly populated server you will be lucky to see 60+ fps. Just reality, nothing you can do about it whatever your system.

Wow is a poorly coded/old game so really doesn't take advantage of GPU power or multi GPU configurations much.

with this in mind which of the modern cards is closest to my 5770 in terms on performance?
and which would give me a noticeable boost?

Well if you're playing wow the last card you want to use is an AMD one. For £90 get a 650 or stretch your budget a little more for a 660.

This is very true, I have a 4.5GHz i7 3820 and a GTX670 @GTX770 clocks, and earlier I was seeing a bit of chop on Nalak. For £90 your best off watching the MM and trying to bag a GTX560ti/GTX470 or higher, The WoW DX11 client runs 10-20% faster than the older DX9 client due to optimization so getting a cheap DX9/10 card for WoW really isn't worth it.

As far as I can remember, Nvidia cards perform slighty better vs AMD cards in Wow. You dont need that much gfx power for it tho. In raids I found a 6970 was no where near close to 100% usage when running a 2600k @ 4.7ghz. Outside of raids gfx power helps but even then you dont need a monster of a card.

If you're happy to go second hand (not the MM, obviously) you can pick up a 560 Ti for about £90, will give you a boost over the 5770 but ultimately with WoW your biggest limitation is the CPU. Nvidia from memory perform much better at WoW than AMD, and second hand gives you the biggest performance boost for your money.

im also getting a graphics card mainly for wow, in terms of price for value for wow what and not spending on something if i wont really benefit from. I do wish to play on ultra settings, what would you advice between 7850/7870 or 7950? im just thining 7950 is a bit over the top for wow? ive had a 7770 and it did okay with ultra settings. the rest of spec are amd fx 8320, 12gb ram

I would try reseating the cooler on the 5770 and keeping it, as something isn't right if its getting to 100c.

For 90 quid new you aren't gonna get much better performance than a 5770 anyway.

The best would be a 7790 which is around £115, or as stated above, a 2nd hand 5850/70, 6950/6970 or 7850
