hi all first post so bare with me :p
anyway i got a new graphics card (AMD 7750) .i have a 450watt PSU and when i put the card in and turned on the pc it entered power safe mood.but works grand when i take it out.do i need to upgrade my psu? or is it something else? it said 400watt or more, and i have 450watt.soo anyone have any idea's ? thanks

What make/model of PSU do you have? The most likely thing is that you have a cheapo PSU that cant put out enough power at a stable enough voltage over the 12V lines for the graphics card

(unless things have changed in the year or so where i havent been keeping up with computer tech, cheapo PSUs put a lot of power on the 3.3V and 5V lines to boost the total power output, which isnt where you want it these days)

my spec is
AMD A10 5800k 3.8Ghz 4 cores
Radeon 7660d intergrated
Asus F2A55 M
8GB DDR3
CIT 400watt PSU
im brand new to pc gaming etc so im not to pc smart at the minute

Have you disabled the on board 7660 in your bios settings?
Maybe its trying to power both devices but theres not enough juice.
If you haven't then I would start there first. If you don't know bios maybe you have a friend who does.
Edit: just been reading up on embedded GPUs and it seems that some people have had trouble disabling integrated GPUs in the bios and have simply just gone into the Windows device manager and disabled it there, then rebooted and installed their new GPU.

Sorry to be blunt but your psu is crap. CIT are at the bottom of the pecking order and are best left on the shelf or even better, thrown in the bin. It will not come anywhere near able to deliver 400w and is built using the cheapest of components. If and when it fails it is likely to take the rest of your rig with it. The psu is the single most important component in a pc and should never be skimped on. Always go for a quality, well known brand and always check reviews before buying any piece of hardware.

When they come back into stock buy yourself one of the XFX Pro 450W Core Edition psu's. It's a quality unit built by Seasonic.
