Heya guys, moved from a HD4890 to a HD6950. No longer using vga, I'm using my HDMI port on the card / tv.

Problem is, my tv's resolution (1920x1200) is displayed as off the screen, 1920x1080 has a big black border around it.

Another thing I've noticed is the colours are completely off and too sharp, as if I'm running it in 16colours.

Anything I can do?

It's unlikely your TV is 1920x1200 and far more likely it's 1920x1080.

In the Catalyst Control Centre set the Scaling options (underscan/overscan) to 0%.

Also ensure your TV picture mode is "Just Scan" or whatever the setting is called on your TV.

My tv is 42" rather than 40"

I can't find the "Just scan" setting for my tv and overscan in 1080p mode makes it cut a tiny amount off the side of the screen

Size is irrelevant, it's resolution that matters.

Most modern TV's are 1920x1080 regardless of screen size.

If you're unsure of the resolution, or what mode to use, then post the make and model of the TV and I'll try and check.

You can play around with the scaling options so that the picture fits the screen.

What make of TV is it?

I've just had all this with a new Samsung LED TV. The complete lack of a manual didnt help.
Re-naming the source inputs (drop down style selection) solved it. This wasnt an option in the main menu.

If its a sammy this will sort it. You can configure this setting by pressing source on the TV remote and editing from there. Mines now on 'DVI PC' and Im rocking 1920x1080 with no probs.

unfortunately its a Technika (Tesco own brand)

Not sure of the exact model, it's running DVI-Vga again and its almost back to normal, only thing different from my old card is that text is slightly blury

Make sure you have the PC set to output the correct resolution.

Most likely 1920x1080 but you can never be 100% certain with this type of TV.

Oh and I keep getting low memory errors when trying to run crysis on ultra with dx11, I have 4gb of ram and its giving me the warning when crysis is using about 1.2gb, any way around this without adding more ram in?

To solve your problem on 1080P resolution, open CCC and find the option Overscan and set it to max of 15% that should get rid the black borders and show a crispier output on your TV.

If your tv is a Sony there is a setting called pixel map that makes the screen fill it correctly at 1920x1080.the default setting is normal which makes the edges of the screen overshoot.I've just found this out myself,it's been bugging mr for a while :D
