Hi guys,

Currently have win7 on a small old 37 gig raptor, with 2 other partitioned drives for movies, music etc.
I have just purchased a Samsung F3 1T drive, I would like to create a partition so I can install win7 and use the rest for storage, can you tell me the best way to achieve this please, want a clean install so not interested in creating a image of raptor,I will be formatting the raptor and putting Mrs photos on it.

Do I connect the F1, format, partition, disconnect, then disconnect the raptor, reconnect F1, then fresh install of Windows, then reconnect raptor and format for storage?

Silly question I know! But your help is appreciated.

Cheers

Easiest way is to disconnect everything bar the F1 then install Windows. During the install you can choose the size of the partition to install to.

Once Windows is installed use Disk Management to partition and format the rest of the F1. Then connect the rest of the drives.

Or I could just type faster.....

Thanks guys,

One more question, because my raptor was so small I used to install games on a separate hard drive, I assume there is no benefit in doing that now, especially seeing as the F1 is my fastest drive.

My system:
Q6600 @ 3.2
Asus P5KE
4 gigs ram ( decent stuff)
XFI 4890 1gig
Seagate Barcuda 500gig hd
320 hd ( God knows make)
Raptor 37 gig
Asus dg sound card

Sorry for the lame questions:)

No need to no, I always have mine on which ever drive is quickest and has enough space.

Never a lame question if you don't know the answer :)
