It's a bit strange but my case switch died. When I changed it, the PSU was dead. I fairly certain the MB is dead as well. Bit of a disaster really. I'm down sizing to another place soon so it's a good time to move down from a full atx

I don't think there is a matx board for the AM3+ 900 chipset.

If you want mATX, then I would go the Intel route.
Amd only offer mATX 700 chipset boards and no sata 6GB ports.

Just looking online there is a real shortage of decent boards for the AM3 or AM3 M-ATX'
be a shame to have to get rid of the phenom when its still a great bit of kit. The other problem is my H20 cooling system, I no longer have the mounts for intel CPU'S so it looks like the kit will def have to be AMD . The case i'm looking at also takes ITX

so maybe go for something like these

The sockets are incompatible,

Those two boards are FM2/FM2+ the Piledriver is AM3+

Ah yeah totally missed that. Were M-ATX boards not very popular, seems silly to buy a brand new cpu just for a smaller mb

Ive never seen a M-ATX 9series chipset board ever.

There must be some reason why there never has been.

Why bother with old tech, usually they lack USB3.0 and SATAIII, plus with the FX 8320/8350 etc you need a good board with solid power circuitry and cooling.

Looks like you may have to switch CPU+board and end up with an ITX/mATX Intel or ITX/mATX FM2+
