New Haswell build rebooting after BIOS

Time to relax now, 9 hours trying to get this thing booted. I have removed everything and you are correct 0 bent pins as expected.

I am 50/50 on the motherboard or power supply but i have started the RMA for the motherboard.

Thank you for the help! I will let you know how i get on.

The SSD is a 120gb ocz agility 3 and the spindle hard drives were both samsung f3 spinpoints. I have the 500gb model and the 1tb model, all the drives would not load windows and restart after the bios screen.

Really confusing fault! I was hoping to be up and running today.

I have just had 1 last attempt to get this booted but this time i used a 60gb agility 3 indilux SSD. I also used the defualt cooler which is allot quicker to install.

So i have the motherboard, ssd and a 5450 card powered up and still nothing happens. I have noticed that the cooler fan twitches quite a few times before becoming fully powered.

I agree with you also, I have a thread open in the customer support section asking what to do. The psu is 1 week old from ocuk and the motherboard is a day old from ocuk.

I am hoping they just say send them both back as i would save money that way with postage and the fee for testing.

another thing I just thought of,where are you plugging in your mouse/kb? use the designated ports with the keyboard/mouse sticker on them it's usually above one of the lan ports

just incase its causing the loop

you have a 14 day dsr (distance selling regulation) for things bought off ocuk, they will refund you,so that might be worth a try over rma

you've tried everything you can really so next thing is to return for refund/replacement then see what happens with a new board/psu

14 day from date of purchase or delivery not sure

I would be interested to know what the issue is, with that kind of issue it is difficult to separate the two components unless you have spares kicking about.

DSR both and get a refund you are inside the timescale. Bad luck thou, however that's why we buy from OCUK, great customer service with no hassle.

Yeah i have spares kicking around but my 400w psu refused to boot the board . I hope that the replacements work fine! haha. I have tried so many different things and all failed.

I have sent them back today at £25 delivered so lets hope i get this sorted soonish.

Some people who have experienced this fault might find this of some use. (From gigabyte tech support)

Dear Sir

Please kindly do as follows:
- remove power cord from PSU Done
- remove the M/B from the case Done
- only install the basic components on the motherboard Done
–CPU, CPU cooling fan, one memory module, VGA card (if MB hasn't onboard one) and power supply. Done
- make sure that 4/8pin 12v connector and MB 20/24 pin connectors from the PSU are both plugged to the MB. Done
- remove CMOS battery - clear cmos by short circuit of "CMOS CLEAR" pins or pressing "CLEAR CMOS" button (if available) Done
- wait 10 minutes - install CMOS battery & connect the power cord to PSU Done
- try to start the MB, it may restart a few times, please be patient Done
- when finally MB has started then upgrade the latest bios version from our website using Q-Flash utility Done
- then install second RAM stick Done

You can find current BIOS version based on the following info: http://ggts.gigabyte.com.tw/eService/motherboard_bios_ver.htm

Please upgrade to the latest bios found at: http://uk.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/download-center.aspx (type your model name in Option 2. Search by Keywords) using Q-Flash utility embedded inside our bios setup. To enter Q-Flash press <End> key during the POST or <F8> key in BIOS Setup. The guide is available at: http://uk.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/HowToReflashBIOS.html Worth to see this topic also: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2441.0.html

You can try to change the PSU for different vendor /model just for checking.

If all of above fails then contact the place of purchase for checking your product and arranging RMA if necessary

Regards GIGABYTE UK Support

I have tried all the above apart from a different psu.

Yeah you could be correct, I wonder how they would test it?.

Overclockers have recieved the package today so i have my fingers crossed they can pin point the fault.

I was wondering if they turn around and say 'no fault found' what would you do next?.
