New Impreza! Your thoughts?

I really really wanted to like the looks of it, but tbh, its ugly as sin, im sure itll be an impressive drive though.

hmmm not so sure on the looks, although I seen the spec c version and it looked OK.

Any subaru fan tell me the reason behind the increase to 2.5L?

They didnt do much with it as it has less power and torque, with the latter coming higher up the rev range than the main oposition, this is going from book figures.

2.5 litre eh. Nice!

That wont make a difference on standard cars, but it should make a BIG difference for tuning!

apparantly not , 350bhp is about max on standard 2.5 internals

I see the spec c has stayed with the 2L.

Also I dont think any of the drag scoobies use the 2.5?? I might be wrong tho :@)

yep , the Spec C , S204 and all JDM have stayed 2.0 , afaik the 2.5 is based on the US block which always struggled for tuning possibilities , a lot of the huge power STi's are 2.0 taken out to 2.33 rather than starting with 2.5 units

Only until it was stolen. I wouldn't dream of leaving one outside a locked garage.

Can't say it'd bother me that much, I've known lots of people living in not very desireable areas never have a problem.

It'd be a bit more of a risk than most new cars, but not as much as people say, I think you'd be more likely to get an older car stolen.

ahhh :)

well it gets you thinking about this new 2.5 unit if the jap boys are staying 2L :)

Forgot to mention I seen my first one of these on the road today, it did actually look a bit better than the pics suggest.

Not as nice as the previous version though imo.

(I think) the 2.5 unit was introduced because of emissions laws. As the old 2.0 didnt match up. The 2.5 was used in the US because of this.

Plus.....isnt the point of a road going rally car to be as close as possible to the rally car? All WRC's are limited to 2.0, so having a 2.5 has defeated the object.

lots of people in here are slagging SEAT's off. tbh i think they're nice looking cars. Well i say nice i only really like the leons and the ibiza's. Nothing to do with i own a ibiza lol :P

I like it.

Glad they finally did something like the Spec D though, I know loads of people who would love an STi but don't want the gold wheels, big wing etc.

Oh I see, thats rubbish then. Mind you isnt the Graeme Goode 500bhp conversion a 2.5 litre block?

Also I'm sure the 9 second scooby at TOTB IV? I might have imagined that though :)

the 2.5 conversions by companies are generally good, as they, like the JDM 2ltrs, used forged pistons etc. For some strange reason the USDM 2.5ltr like the uk model, doesnt used forged components (or so I believe) hence making it quite bad for big power :(

Yea gods that is an ugly car, the front end is far to "soft", the older scoobys had a much stronger nose. It's all gone a bit pete tong.
