so the rest of the 13th gen chips are out. very well priced imo. something like the 13500f for £240? sounds decent bang for buck.

thoughts?

im on a 10400f at the mo with a 3060ti , seriously thinking about upgrading to one of these.

The 13500 does look interesting, same number of E & P cores as the 13600K, but almost £100 cheaper. Not sure how much difference the lower clock will make in games, hopefully some reviews soon.

still a big outlay, particularly if you go ddr5? Can't imagine comet lake is bottlenecking your gpu anyway?

yeh tbh i prolly dont need to upgrade due to performance. i get about 120fps in MW2 in mid settings which is fine , but ive got an itch to spend some $$$ on an upgrade :)

I will also wait for a review or two before jumping in though.

ive no idea what mobo and ddr5 to get with 13th gen, so need to do some research on those aswell, presume a B660 mobo as the non K cant be overclocked officially anyway so no need for the Z mobo.....

I'd go B760, because then you shouldn't have any BIOS problems, the not-high-end B660 motherboards often don't have flashback. I think you might get away with a fairly low-end one for a 13500, but without reviews it's hard to say exactly how demanding they are. Ideally, I'd like to see a B760 roundup by buildzoid too, to get an idea which of the low-end motherboards is the strongest for a non-K i5.

So the i5-13500 looks like it might be the budget-conscious gamer's choice?

All the cores and most of the speed of the 13600. Can probably raise the power limits so it can boost for a lot longer if your VRMs and cooling are up to the job. And if you already have some DDR4 hanging around... looks like a solid choice.

Some out already
thanks, yeh i saw theres alreadya few of these fps comparison vids out. but when i said review i meant an actual review like from gamersnexus or jay2cent etc. these fps comparison are ok for a quick idea but it doesnt mention power consumption or anything else useful so ill wait abit longer.

Problem with the 13500 might be price. With an excellent gaming cpu like the 13600kf sat at £290 it needs to be cheap, particulary when you are 'stuck' at 4.8ghz with the non-K.

Going to be retiring my 5820k for either a 13400/13500/13600 in a few weeks.

I can't really make my mind up at the moment, should probably just get the 600, as you can see I don't upgrade my PC often, but might get the 500 and stick an extra 1tb NVME in with the difference.

That 13600kf is a pretty good deal at that price, but it's still £50 more than the 500, and has no iGPU (I don't know if that's important to you, it's a bonus to me but not worth a lot).
Over here ... I can find a 13500 for $404 AUD, and the 600kf for $50 more, only about £30, so even closer. Hmm...

13600kf up to £300 now, but no new Raptors on OCUK?
The fact that you can OC all the P cores to 5.6ghz on the K would still be the clincher for me.
