New Labour, was it worth it?

Labour it was the gold sell off.

Tories we have the covid business loan fraud which was written off.
PPE supplier fraud.
Plus the 11 billion you mentioned.
Plus the big one, we losing circa 20 billion a year because of thatcher's decision to cancel social house building and replace it with right to buy. This trumps all of them. There will be a untold impact on the economy as well from the reduced ability to spend of consumers living in private rentals.

Don’t forget Brexit. Probably the most impactful change made by any government in the last 50 years. Apart from the economic problems it’s led us to appear isolationist and with regards to international convention and law we will soon not be trusted. Despite the arguments within the tories about europe that have been going on since we joined, none of them actually was in danger of doing anything because they understood what it was about. It was all bluster. Now, where are all the pro EU voices in our politics? SNP and the Lib Dems as far as I can see. I’ve got no political preference any more because the chances of anything more than “being closer to what I would do myself than the other lot” are zero.

All the non Tory parties should form an alliance (like the tories did with the brexit lot or ukip or whoever) and campaign on the softest Brexit possible. That would be enough for me (the benign dictator you never had :D ).

With the Blair government, and the Cameron ones, there was at least a whiff of competency and taking things seriously. Now we just have a bunch of random ministers with no expertise, in post solely because they support the leader, barking out what sound like jokes as policy. We’ve hired an alcoholic to drive the bus, silly us.

Ultimately you vote your preferences but I tend to agree with @SexyGreyFox that over a time, it makes little difference. I have been voting since the mid seventies and have not influenced much in that time.

Grains of sand is what we are.

whereas with the pandemic, the tories had to be reactionary
they basically copied what other countries were doing for the most part. (we had a 1-3 month period where we just watched Europe before it even came here and tories wouldn't close the borders)
I don't know if other countries were daft enough to let random people source PPE though
