Will this keyboard work with a PC without any flaws?

I understand the specific hotkeys wont do anything, but does the command button work as the windows button etc?

Apologies if this is a very obvious question, but im a bit of a mac noob!

Many thanks

Charlie

As it works under Bootcamp im 100% sure it will work fine on a windows PC, also i would have thought you could download the bootcamp drivers and install the keyboard driver which would allow the command buttons to work...

If no-one comes along with a definate answer I can try it myself tomorrow morning.

They will work. Like you said, some of the hotkeys wont do as they say and you might have to spend a few minutes mapping # and @ keys but nothing too serious.

I've plugged an Apple keyboard into an Xbox before now and it worked fine.

Might need a bit of tinkering to get the F13 key to work as "Print Screen" - at least you did with the older Apple keyboards.

The connector has a chunk cut out of it so the Apple USB extension cable can connect to it. The keyboard will work in any USB slot, but the extension cable will only work with the Apple keyboard.

I have absolutely no idea why Apple thought that would be a good idea.

They've done it for years. No idea why, must put the cost of making it up by a bit. The only thing it prevents you from doing is using the extension for something else.

Exactly! The keyboard can be used fine with or without the extension. You just can't use the extension for anything else. No problem really.

It's incredibly anal though, I can't think of a single reason for not wanting you to use the extension for anything you want. It would cost them more to make than a "standard" USB extension cable too.

I guess is if someone connect the keyboard to their usb port on their monitor or anything on the desk then there is less cable laying around.

That's fine, I think having a short cable for the keyboard is a superb idea, it's the silly connector on the extension that boggles the mind.

How long is the cable without the extension? Please say 1M?!, any less and I'll snap.

Also, be warned that the caps-lock key relies on a timed-toggle to turn it on/off, could be a problem in Windows.. I'm not sure.

What the hell are you all on about with the caps lock key? you press it it comes on instantly, you press it again and it goes off instantly?
