New mac keyboard; work with PC?

I can't decide if it's worth getting hold of the drivers for the extra keys from bootcamp or not.

Not worth it I think unless you really want the volumes and media keys to work, then again you can easily map them with sharpkeys so that's not a problem. Besides after you installed the driver you'd need to press the fn key in order to access the normal F1-F12 functions, which is quite annoying if you need these keys regularly.

Have you tried Sharpkeys? You could probably map some other keys or even key combinations to the extra F keys and perhaps make the eject key eject a CD drive or something? :p

I tried mapping the extra fn combinations (fn+F1-F19) but it only recognises the normal F1-F19 and not the extra fn+F1-F19 if you know what I mean.

Ah okay, will probably just ignore them then.

I have to add, it's really not that great to play FPS games on either - I feel sorry for anyone gaming seriously on one of these. :(

I got used to the feel so will probably prefer to game on this now rather than conventional kb. It takes a lot less effort to press and they don't get stuck.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread, but I'm wanting to share my apple keyboard and mouse on my PC as well as Macbook, but I don't want a full KVM set-up as I have separate monitors for both, is there anything like this around?

I purchased this keyboard from Apple in Regent Street, it worked with Vista 64bit but caused my pc to freeze on re-boot. F keys as metioned dont work and @ key is in the wrong place too :)

I tried the wireless keyboard (£49), thinking its just a bluetooth keyboard and should work - nope, doesnt pair with Vista 64 (sigh & returned it...shame as there lovely keyboards!)

Someone extracted the keyboard bundle from the Bootcamp...

Works for me... then again the keyboard worked fine without it.

Hope the guy's who have this working can help here. I've been using the last Apple Keyboard on Windows XP/Vista fine for the last 2 years, saw the new one and just had to buy it. It works fine out of the box for general operations but would like to get some of the functions working that worked automatically on the old keyboard like the volume control,

I've tried the .exe on the above link but the exe doesn't load at all, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Anyone at all?

i am in the same boat... tried it on two different PC and still its seems as if it does nothing

I'm using Bootcamp 1.4 right now, and its awfully buggy on Windows XP. Everything works etc, bar the eject.

10 second freeze when it loads the control panel.

PC running Windows XP with everything (pretty much) updated, SP2 though.

Basically it works, but freezes my PC on startup. I've heard issues of it not running on startup, even though its in my msconfig etc.

I guess i'll just have to run it - hope its just a slow load & stable, until a better release/fix.

I dunno abotu using SharpKeys because i'm a whore and love the On Screen Display.
