New Mac Products 7th August

If the iMac doesn't get updated the Mac zealots will raise Bloody Hell I should think.

I've not heard anything about the MacBook but if they do it'll only be a minor "Santa Rosa" bump in specs. An increased fsb and maybe a new graphics chipset. Nothing to write home about. Probably to cash in on the "Back to School" segment.

And then once everyone who simply cant resist buys these new Macs with Tiger, they'll bring out Leopard and sell you that too. :D

I expect to see a gaming orientated iMac tbh :) What with all the news of using cider to port games, and GoW and UT3 coming to the Mac natively.
Commandandconquer world also states something special is happening to C&C3 on tuesday 7th, so perhaps they will coincide the physical launch of that for the Mac with more powerful gaming-orientated hardware.

Good point about the PC ports - where did you read that Gears is coming to Mac though?
Epic announced it when they said it was coming to the PC :)

Aye, id second a new graphics card for the macpro is urgently needed, not sure about a CPU bump, 8x 3ghz cores is pretty damn plenty... a price reduction on the top spec wouldnt go amiss though.

Aye, £500 to get the 4x3ghz from the 4x2.66ghz, where I could buy em from OcUK for £440ish and buy the bottom 1.86ghz version and save myself £300ish!

Hopefully new gfx + price cuts!!!

4x3ghz for less than £1500 ex VAT would be niiiiice! :D

A MacPro update is exactly what I'm waiting for :)
Aye same here.

If they update the aging Radeon X1900XT then I might just order one on the spot :D

Definitely. Or some chance to buy one if they decide to drop them...
They'll still be available on the Apple Store UK for a few weeks / months even if they're discontinued.. I wouldn't worry.

The same happened with the iMac G5 when the Intel iMac was released..

Somewhere else had said that they control their stock very well and there could be a mad scramble if they do drop the Mini...

Depends how low the stock drops on the days running up to the new products usually.

I wouldn't worry though.. it will be a good few months before they cease them completely.

..and that's just "new" ones.. I dare say they'd be on the refurb store for a lot longer than that :)

Well, am visiting the Apple store on Thursday on the way back from a trip...planning on buying either a MB or a MBP, i'm not waiting anymore god dammit! :D

The MBP won't be updated, however the MB might see a slight bump.

Have you been waiting to get a MBP but the rumors of the bumped MB swayed you to wait? ;)
