new monitor and gpu

its a nice improvement over a 19 inch, but if u wanna geta nice 22 inch either the t220 or 2233bw, btw whats your budget?

are the ATI 4850/70's better than the nividea 260s

ive always been an ATi fan, but thought that 260 was a better offer

didnt see that 24" and its perfect as its got one of each input

budget, as close to £250 as possible, and i can collect, so postage doesnt need to be considered

plus ill have my 19" and X1950pro to flog hopefully

If you are after a 22 inch LCD. I would check out the Dell 2209WA.

Above, although i would rephrase it to read - 'I would buy the DELL 2209WA.

It's a brilliant all rounder and, in my opinion, is the best 22" for the money at the moment (if you can afford that much.). However, i am slightly bias as i own 2 - read a few reviews they should sway your opinion if you can stretch your budget.

EDIT:

budget, as close to £250 as possible, and i can collect, so postage doesnt need to be considered

This rules out the 2209WA - I would get the cheapest 4850/4870 and get the best quality monitor you get afford with what's left over.

since u can buy a 4870 for like 100 quid 150 0on a monitor would be a gr8 combo

As you are considering the S2409W now - I want to echo the calls of the guys above for the Dell 2209WA as it is only £7 more expensive. Its is a fantastic monitor and must be the best one less than £299.

Even despite the smaller size, the 2209WA by far the better monitor. This is because it uses an e-IPS panel type, compared to the TN panel in the s2409w. Here is an explaination of what that means. In short, the 2209WA has better colours, deeper blacks and overall much better image quality, plus far better viewing angles (you can use that site to compare other features too).
