New Monitor(s) Advice

@izzop .

Nice set up, the cooler fits well in the case and works astetcally overall , one thing you may want to add in the future is a rear exhaust fan but there's plenty of ventilation.

Have you tried a game on your new monitor ?

Rise of the Tomb Raider, that, no surprise, looks much better than it did at 1920x1080! :D and Transport Fever 2.

Certainly an increase in sound from the fans, but that's only to be expected with it set to a 120 Hz refresh.

Regarding the mention of a rear exhaust fan, I'll bare it in mind, but for the moment, like you say there's plenty of ventilation and something to consider for some time in the future.

Nice.

Download MSI AFTERBURNER you will be able to monitor GPU, CPU temps, adjust fans speeds, monitor FPS, etc

Enjoy.

Well this post has answered my question about a new monitor for my new setup "soon". Quite likely getting a 6800XT and 7800X3D so 1440p high refresh I guess, may try 4k once monitors get a touch more available.

ALso what's with the Acer's model names? Like someone had a stroke when naming

I'm half torn as to go for a 4k setup or 1440p, pc is coming from ocuk in the next few weeks 13700KF, 7900 XTX 24GB, 32GB, I'd like to think it'd be a 4k machine or is it just easier to know that it could obliterate anything at 1440p?

Exactly my struggle right now! Was kinda set on 4k 60fps, which the 6800XT can do so I read (no RT) but then came across a lot of opinions about having to upscale as 4k obviously will make things tiny, I guess, on anything smaller than 32" maybe larger which sounded like hassle (although probably eassy to workaround). But like you say, the alternative is destroying all 1440p max settings content for years to come.

One thing to also wonder - the notable difference from 1080p to 1440p to 4k - is 1440p a noticeable difference from 1080? Guessing it is but never seen anny comparisons

So nice to see someone as unsure on what they're doing as me! I think the sensible option would be (for me and probably you) to get a 27/28 1440p screen, i'd then look at a 1440p none gaming screen for a 2nd screen (usual browsing, streaming stuff and then usable for my work too) and look to swap my TV for a. 4k one for my Series X in the future.

Sounds like the route I'll be taking, but I doon't want buyers remorse by not going 4k. Cann moodern day cards handle two screens on two different resolutions? (need anew keyboard too ass the typos shhow) - so if I start off 1440p then decide to go 4k, use the 1440p ass a secondary monitor..

Yes, or at least that's the setup I now have, although only with 1080 and 1440. Can't see why it'd be any different with 1440 and 4k.

Thinking out loud, I only use my TV for my fire stick and xbox as I cancelled sky a while back, maybe the 32" Gigabyte screen mentioned above with a soundbar could work as a "TV" and controller based pc games that could be played in 4k could play on there too!

So many options, so many decisions! So bad at all this!

Thats good to know, part of me thought if I kick off with a 1440 I'd have to sell it on ocne moving to 4k. So a decent IPS 1440 is around the £300 mark (thanks to this post I saw the linked ones, cheaper than I thought) - a decent 4k probably double that? No idea what too look for in a monitor, and to be honest any previouos monitor was bought on recommendatioon rather than my own research.

I'm the same as you, I think any 27" 1440p offerings worth the time are posted in here for sure!

Why not
I like the 32" 4K VA I have, my 27" 4K IPS is too small.
Going with another IPS as I like colour accuracy.
This is the way.

Quite sure I'll kick off with a 27" 1440p then up to a 32" 4k; of course thenn I'll need a new GPU and more importantly eye sight test done to make full use of it.

Monitors don't make great TV's (unless you are a student), LG OLED's can game (120hz and TV / YouTube....) very well... I'm thinking 1440p Monitor for my PC, sticking with my 4K LG OLED for everything else.

Main problem being where my TV is its on a corner table and is an older 32" 1080p but don't think it could fit bigger than maybe a 42" at a push, which i guess would be fine for TV/XBOX Series X/Controller PC games that it can hammer out in 4k, then get a 1440p main PC screen and keep one of my 1080ps for work.

I#ll have a think on that, right now I'm just so stuck on indecisions regarding the PC monitor, even though the spec is very high on the new PC (I7 13700KF/7900 XTX 24GB/32GB/NVME Drives) i'm just worried in 4k there will still be some performance hiccups at times, thinking I should just click buy on the Gigabyte M32Q and stop overthinking!
