This is probably an idiotic question, but I have limited business knowledge.

But Spie's position as chairman isn't temporary right? He will continue to chair OcUK, after Rupert has learnt the ropes, etc?

All I'm asking is if Spie will still be running OcUK (on whatever level) in a few months/a year?

Yes. OcUK is going from strength to strength and has now reached a size that requires additional talent in order to continue expansion. That's why Rupert has been brought into the team. I intend to be Chairman and principal shareholder for many years to come.

If you find the time, read the book "Good to great", I think that it has relevance to your company's progression and it is really good for reflection on personal progression:

"It doesnt matter if you don't know where you are or where you are going, but if you have the right people on board - you will go to all the right places... great places"

Yeah, As long as he doesnt get too involved in these forums he will do great. I spend waaay too much time on here myself. . . Especially when i dont do things i really should (Such as housework, eating etc).
 
Seriously, congratulations Mark.

To anyone who hasn't read through what Spie has gone through to get where he is, I suggest you do. It's a very interesting read. It's nice to see he's in a position to employ a managing director to take away a lot of his work load :)
