looks like the same crappy d pad to me still has the dumb raised plastic around it which was one of the problems in the first place.
They are either incredibly stupid or trying to save costs by using existing gamepad shells.
Not surprised though as we all know microsoft are all about making you pay through the nose for everything.

The "raised" part goes down when you twist the d-pad. It just leaves the "arrows" when you twist it, the plastic drops down so you don't touch it at all.

That's what i was thinking, if it's still a joystick underneath then it will still be crap. From what i've seen of it though it does look like they're using higher grade materials...
