New PC Build Recommendations

Would you recommend a water cooler or a tower cooler?
Peerless assassin is simpler and cheaper, but you may prefer water for aesthetics. Having to adjust the fan curve for best results is common with air, though not a big deal. If you're moving the case around a lot, a heavy lump hanging off the CPU is not ideal.

Also does it matter what RAM I get as long as its ddr5 6000mhz?
From a performance point of view: no, not really. The X3D's don't care that much. C30 is generally the best price/performance combination.

The sticks I suggested will run at that speed "out of the box" because they use JEDEC timings, this memory is slow, but also convenient. Most gaming memory will use EXPO for overclocking, which you enable in the BIOS.

This is the Build I have put together using all of your recommendations. Please let me know if anything is wrong or anything you would change. I have seen that the case selected can be a bit tight to get some stuff in so please let me know if the the parts don't fit. Thank You .
FYI: the Zotac cards are generally recommended because of the warranty, not sure how long Gainward warranty is.

You could look at the C5 ARGB instead, but I think it'll all fit based on the CPU cooler/GPU-length/PSU-length restrictions I can see.

Do you know where I can find the warranty details on ocuk please?

Just getting round to ordering everything but the motherboard and PSU are out of stock. Is there any alternatives to these to save ordering from different places?

I will order from different places if I need to but just nice to get it all at same time. Thanks

Its will cost you a bit more for the PSU £20 and motherboard £8 but make sure your happy with the board and could change the memory to black to match.

Motherboard wise there are some Asrock options within the same price range, but some have concerns of running them with X3D chips due to failures. If you do go for an Asrock board be sure to update to the latest bios and keep an eye on future bios updates.

PSU I can't see anything within the same price range, the two closest which are in stock otherwise would be the following:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £284.98 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Obviously you're paying a bit more but OCUK's in stock PSU/Motherboard selection is a tad dire right now.

I'd be inclined to shop around a little.

Edit: Whoops, wrote this out half an hour ago and forgot to hit enter, micky beat me to it!

I’m guessing there’s no difference in the motherboards even if there is I don’t really care aslong as it works with the parts. Also opted for the Corsair vengeance rgb ram for £110 ish

Yeah it’s not the end of the world if I do have to shop about be stupid not to really I suppose. Best off saving as much as possible

For a gaming focused build you'll never notice the difference tbh.
If some people are saying they have a problem with them motherboards with a x3d I’d rather be safe than sorry and spend an extra £20 but if I do end up shopping around I can always get the one originally suggested.

It's a known and heavily reported issue within the community and news outlets which Asrock are working on and (hopefully) have solved with X3D chips, they had very high failure rates compared to the competition which is a shame because many of their boards are excellent. There's some speculation that it's related to PBO information handed down to them by AMD among other reasons but nothing is 100% certain yet.

Gamers Nexus actually interviewed them recently on the matter:

The latest bios updates should resolve issues, but not wanting to take the chance is totally valid when dealing with the faff and expense of a system build.

Also sorry if this is a stupid question but I’m new to all this component stuff. Can I get any PSU as long as it’s 750w or 850w or is there ones that do something others don’t? Only asking as I’m having to buy the antec C5 case elsewhere and could maybe get the PSU from the same site.

Some are much better than others, in fact some are outright dangerous to the point they can destroy entire systems when failing. Certain companies also lie about how much power their supplies can deliver, the last thing you want to do is cheap out or buy a poor PSU.

If you do a search on the site you're getting your case from for atx 3.0 or 3.1 750-850w supplies within the £75-85 range you should get a few pop up. While you can't tell us what the site is you can show us the results and we can advise on the best of the options.

If you're using a big marketplace type website such as a certain rainforest we can take a gander and find something fitting without you needing to faff.

Edit: A quick google shows the "Phanteks AMP GH 750w" in stock for £85 from the All Wheel Drive company as the second result.

Thanks for that will definitely have a look. I found this one “850W Montech Century II ATX 3.1 Gold Modular PSU” for £85. Seems a little cheap compared to other 850w though.
