New PC Build Recommendations

Thanks for that will definitely have a look. I found this one “850W Montech Century II ATX 3.1 Gold Modular PSU” for £85. Seems a little cheap compared to other 850w though.

Montech are a known company for their cases and the prices probably reflect their entry into the PSU world. Their Century II line has reviewed well at multiple outlets and looks like a winner:

The only concern really is that the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) is relatively new, but that lends to the above and you're backed by a 10 year warranty.

It's also well rated on the most up to date PSU tier list I'm personally aware of:

Thanks for the information mate. Have just realised it’s silver though. I’ve seen a black thermalright one are the thermalright PSUs any good? It’s atx 3.1 gold too.

Do you mean silver in rating or looks? There aren't any silver rated Century II units as far as I'm aware.

If you're worried about looks don't be, the PSU will be hidden under a shroud in the case, the only visible part will be the (black) cables and that largely depends on your management.

My bad I meant looks I didn’t know every case hid the PSU. Got a couple PSUs to choose from thanks to you cheers mate.

Another quick one guys, just wondering if the peerless assassin cooler will overlap my ram slots and if my ram will fit with the cooler being there. And if there's any point getting RGB if it does fit as it will probably be covered up buy the cooler.

The fan overhangs the ram slots but you can see the 4th slot so you'll see one but they will fit.

I believe the freezer 36 has more compact dimensions, so might be a better choice if you want RGB RAM, but it is less effective as a cooler overall.
