Evening all,

I’m looking for advice and spec on a new build, I plan on buying parts over the next few months and gradually building back up, but I’ve been out of the loop for so long I wouldn’t know where to start,

Ideally some gaming but not extreme, I’d like to play some stuff in 4K, but it’s not a necessity, if I’m hitting 1080/60 with everything ramped up, I’d be fairly comfortable with that, I’ve already got an OS through work, so that’s that taken care of, I just wouldn’t know what components to get, any help is greatly appreciated!

I used to, not any more, I had an i5 2500k with a 1070 and that worked pretty well for what I wanted, so a bit of an upgrade would be alright I guess, budget wise I’d like to keep it under £1000 if possible

when you say "the next few months" what sort of timeframe are you looking at?
1-2 months or something like 8-9 months?

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £952.96 (includes shipping: £14.10)

you get free shipping, so can buy these over a period of time.
1) Ryzen 2600 can be as low as £150. don't buy yet
2) 16gb ram can be as low as £90. don't buy yet
3) MSI B450-A PRO price relatively static, no need to rush (can get a better board with the extra funds if you want, but not really important)
4) 650w psu price relatively static, no need to rush
5) TG 480gb ssd - on offer, good price for £50 - would buy
6) 1tb hard drive - price normally fluctuates, but within £3, so no need to rush
7) sapphire VEGA56 - best price currently also with free games bundle, hard to say whether to buy yet though. can wait and see how prices fluctuate, given nvidia are releasing GTX 1660ti end of the week
8) P350x case + fan bundle - static price
9) KB+mouse combo - static price, out of stock at ocuk currently

So it looks like the budget is gonna drop to around £700 minus the case and keyboard/mouse

Reckon I’ll still be able to have something upgraded over what I had?

The one you listed, had spare PayPal funds I didn’t know were there so just got that, still have my mouse/keyboard in storage I thought I’d gotten rid of
