New PC build

without case:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £749.04 (includes shipping: £11.10)

basically now that your budget is reduced, should have gone for a cheaper case. should've asked before buying :)
anyway...because of this. few compromises.
1) i've specced a lower wattage psu - make no mistake though, it's still more than powerful enough for the build. the only downside is that if you want to upgrade your gpu down the line, you'd have to upgrade your psu too...
2) slightly cheaper GPU, 1660ti requires much less power, but is within a few % of the vega 56. though you don't get a games bundle, unfortunately
3) kept the ssd, but no hdd for storage, if you need more, then it's one of the easier 'upgrades' you can do later down the line.

again, the cpu (2600) is overpriced at ocuk, i'd recommend getting it elsewhere, and save £30.
as you get free shipping, that should bring you within budget :)

Not sure if I am missing something, but is the pc in your sig your current system ? If so then you already have a good 1080p/60Hz setup.

A Vega 56 or GTX 1660 ti is more or less the same performance as the GTX 1070.

I haven’t used the forums in so long it just needed updated, I’ve not had that system for about 16 months, something at a similar spec or a relatively good upgrade is ideally what I’m after

An RTX 2080 would be a decent upgrade over the GTX 1070 if you want to look at 4K gaming. For 1080p though I would stick with your GTX 1070 and maybe look at getting a new cpu/board if the i5 holds you back. At 4K the cpu is under less load as it is moved onto the gpu, so the cpu is less of an issue mostly.

Ah my bad. Just noticed that you don't have the pc in your sig anymore :D Builds posted are good then in that case.

ryzen self overboosting is pretty decent. just leave it to do its own thing.
the only thing i suggest is to set the voltage offset to -0.05v. you can play with it and set it up to -0.1v, up to you how much you want to tinker.
-0.05v is a good start for beginners.

Hi guys, after a few issues I’m up and running, but anytime I do anything GPU intensive, my machine just shuts down, I’ve read PSU might not be up to it, but I’d have though 650w would be more than enough

Yeah I’ve done that, thought it’d be sensible, fans don’t spin either, though I’m reading that this is normal if it’s not under load?

Any sign of stress and it just completely shuts down
