New PC Bundle from OC - Help needed

Well, they've certainly upgraded, it's a quality unit - they must be hard to shift which benefits you - as it's leaps and bounds in quality over the Kolink.

I know it's a PITA having to return but there will be no excuses for it not working when you get it back. There is a sense in returning the whole unit as they may find another, indirect, related issue while they're testing which would obviously be a bonus for you if they do. As it will be all sorted in one RMA - hopefully.

Keep us updated - would be good to hear when you finally get it sorted.

Best of luck.

They arent picking it up anymore, Ill be taking it down tomorrow, nice little 6 hour round trip, i need this computer hence the reason of doing such a journey, So who knows we could have an update tomorrow night, One thing i do want to mention, ive been speaking with Brad who words at OVC throughout this experience and he has been absolutely fantastic, along with you lads on here helping me troubleshoot etc.
I really do appreciate it

Well touching wood, 2 and a half hours or a seamless stream of resident evil 2! went perfectly fine, well happy about that. Again shoutout to Brad, and you legends. Thank you

Great - i've always found their customer service staff really helpful, but i've only ever communicated via the forums.

Did you wait around until it was fixed - did they mention if they found any other issues other than swapping out PSU?

All things seem'd to have pointed towards the PSU, but i dropped it off and went down the road for some food, what was suppose to be a 6 hour round trip turned out to be about 8 and a half, horrific snow this morning blocked half of the roads to get there, typical.

Well! it looks like we are back to square one, low and behold last night it was perfect go to today, we jump onto a game and literally.... a minute? later. Power gone. yet again. This is gash this.

This apparently:

Total: £120.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Yes, i was concerned about your turn around - only 2 hours max (if they started work on it straight away) - to stress test but more importantly throw games at it and simulate everyday usage abuse :/.

It can't be PSU - 3 DOA units, even allowing for the Kolinks, you would have to be extremely unlucky for 3 units to simulate the exact same problem.

All they've achieved is eliminating the PSU - still leaves a lot of components. What do you want to do?

Yep thats the one,

And what do i want to do? in an ideal scenario smash the absolute **** out of it. But alas that would be stupid and i just need to calm down, There's nothing more than i can do then yet again get on the phone with them tomorrow. And tell them exactly what has happened, yet again. THANKFULLY it has literally just done it a second time BUT ive recorded what hapopens so im going to send that in an e-mail or something to them aswell, but again on top of that something weird happened this second time round, when i went to turn it back on after a little bit. The Blue light next to the power button was on, along with the little gigabyte logo inside the computer but it did not power up?!.

Im really running out of ideas here. So i suppose after a week and a day of all of this tomfoolery im going to have to leave it to the "experts"

On my phone so apologies if you've already answered this, does it go off completely or restart? Do you have anything under the c:\windows\minidump folder?

Can you download memtest86 and write it to a usb and run that?

Does the motherboard have onboard GPU so you can try running the PC without the GPU and see if it still goes off?

It goes completely off yep, and there is nothing there not even a folder, one thing i did find though going into that is a windows.old folder which was surprising as i only assumed that happened when you re-installed windows with a new copy or something?

anyway. Yes the motherboard does have an onboard GPU i believe but i generally wouldnt know how to set it to just that running, would it require uplugging the gfx card?

Yes, that cropped up in the PSU forum too, along with someone else reporting that they have problems with random shutdowns but instead of RMAing they've adjusting their power settings.

Agreed, this is looking the likely cause - memtest is last the swing of the dice if he get it to regain consciousness for one last test for, perhaps, an easier RMA - but suspect he will want rid of the machine for a new one. I don't blame him with all the effort he went to to get it resolved quickly.

But, to be fair to OC they did upgrade PSU to a quality unit and attacked the problem as soon as he dropped it off - just wasn't the right combo of tests/time to replicate problem. It's a f...

Okay, so something weird / different but first let me apologize to you all for not noticing i had more replies to this, i will probably try the above mentioned things tomorrow but alas. Ive been fiddling with The division 2 tonight changing the settings to try and get it to run, Upon one of the shut downs i see the same old "Default Radeon WattMan settings has been restored due to unexpected situation", so i google'd this and alas found someones suggestion of trying to run a game with just one monitor so i unplugged one, tried it and low and behold it ran like a dream. So im now confused by this! Two monitors seem's to be bad for me! haha
