** New Pci-E Xfi Coming on may 22nd! **

I cant replace the x-fi, id miss the eax game effects too much, although anoyingly eax is getting less and less supported in games for inbuilt software effects :|

Well i don't hope from Creative to burn in hell i hope that the Xonar will make them release something better than what they used so release for some time now.
That new card seems like a cheap version of the Xonar card.

Am I the only one that likes Creative?

My platinum X-Fi is perfect; no driver problems, eax is great, decoding of DD/DTS or output via spdif works brilliantly etc. I don't get the bashing!

My x-fi extreme music card this morning has finally got the better of me.im running vista 64,and xp 32.sometimes when i boot up its fine, sometimes when i game it pops and screeches.so am just about to order a xonar,i dont think r sell the x-fi as i would,nt want someone to go through the pain of owning such utter garbage.

I'm with you. I've had an X-Fi Elite Pro since launch, it's now in it's third mobo, has been used with XP x86/XP x64/Vista x64 with 1GB/2GB/4GB of ram with no major problems.

I've had a few oddities with it (but no more than Windows, other bits of h/w and drivers have given me over the years) and do agree Creative's drivers and release schedule could be better but nothing that's made me totally give up on it and want to replace it.

Not saying it's perfect for everyone, as it's obviously not from seeing all the issues people on the net are having with them, just that it's never been anywhere near as bad for me.

Don't think I'll be bothering with these, my elite pro still works and has superior connectivity (to this model).
I like the shield and the pci-e connector though. I wonder if it's just a bridge or a new chip.
