** New Pci-E Xfi Coming on may 22nd! **

Bet you this comes shipped with the same drivers as for the X-Fi Audio PCI-e.....but re-labelled.

Doubtful, they will ship with the Audigy 1, windows 3.1 drivers.

Wow another fatality product, which will make the consumers look as daft and sad as he does. Il stick with my modded Emu, no fancy crap, just a stereo RCA output to my headphone amp, and ASIO plugin for Winamp.

Since this is still X-Fi 1, I wonder if creative do actually have an X-Fi 2 upcoming?

Sure is, which makes this card pointless if the X-fi 2 is due soon, MS apparantly signed off the Drivers for it.. so its gotta be due soon id expect.

But there is still no real concrete/news/specs info on it...

No doubt will arrive and give the Xonar some much needed competition :)

I was thinking to myself, how many people still buy creatives cards etc their profits must be down.
I was chatting to a bloke yesterday who was having sound problems on his high end Dell (mid $4000 australian), and he told me it had an X-Fi in it.
After a bit of reseach, it turns out he has one of these.
They cost about $90.99 USA.

Is it extreme cos it has shared ports? Extreme rip off IMO, but goes to show creative made a deal somewhere.

they arent, they are about $63 over in the USA lol. regardless thats still too much for that horrible card.

I guess with a lot of computer retailers Creative will have Oem deals for shipping with pre built systems.

I am hoping that other companys will take notice like Asus have, this is probally the best time for other soundcard manufacturers to launch a soundcard for gaming/music/multimedia etc with Vista 32/64bit as well as XP.

I keep a regular check on the following manufacturers, are their any other gaming soundcard manufacturers out there?

I think the damage is already done for Creative, I really dont care what soundcards they bring out now, I just wont buy one.

Have a look on that site in the US that sounds like it would be nice sunny side up or you could dip fingers in it ;)

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail $90.99
The one you mean is the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz @ $62.99
You pay so much more to be a XtremeGamer, but the only differece I can see is the white flexijack.

I haven't got the heart to tell this guy whos just paid well over $4000 AUS for a Dell that he's got a rubbish sound card.

Thinking...Creative do have a monolpy with laptop cards tho, as this is the only one I can find made that fits the new slot.

The Xtremegamer isn't a bad card tbh, especially for the price.

The Xtreme audio is a bit of a con, it doesn't have a true X-FI chip and doesn't support any of the advanced EAX effects.

I hope Creative go bust.

I can't believe that rather than fix the current cards, they instead expect people to buy new ones. Ridiculous thieving scumbags.

I'm going over to the Xonar.
