New quieter case

Try using a needle. ;)

I really should get around to writing a new guide thats more suitable for first time volt modders as that one is quite advanced in parts.

How you find the case anyhow? Like it? :)

Yeah, it was nice to work with, much more spacious. Suprisingly light too.

I think the guide is pretty well written, it makes sense, but just seems harder to do in practise. I may add in a (home made) speed controller, but would like for it to control both fans simultaneously, which means cutting a PSU wire and I don't really want to do that.

You can buy them that go inbetween two molex connectors.

Don't ask where from as it can not be said, I will pop it in product suggestions actually. :)

Ah, I got the 7 volt mod working :D

I noticed you mentioned the watch makers screw drivers, which I happen to have a set of, and they made it pretty easy. Both case fans now run on 7v, I checked with the DMM. Quite an improvement in noise levels, and I haven't seen the temperatures go up either.

Works miracles, usually increases the temeperature by about one, maby two deg at the high end load.

Nothing that should be bad considering the noise level improvements it offers. :)

Agree completely :D

The temps are around 27 in the case, 47 at the CPU when idle and the CPU temp rises to no more than 55 when under load, so no worries there. The graphics card should be happy too with the cooler, which has around 3 times more dissapation than the stock one.

All sounds good! :D

Quite a nice case temp aswell! Mine is 26 at the moment but most of the heat is taken away from the case via water cooling, so very nice temperatures indeed!
