** NEW RANGE INCOMING - PRE ORDER DISCOUNTS FOR ALL ENERGENIE PRODUCTS **

Just recieved my Energenie PC Automatic Standby Shutdown Extention Lead this morning. Plugged it in then the whole of the upstairs electric goes down... Not impressed.

terrible news, have you spoken to our support team?

I have got one out here working fine so I am sure it may just be a faulty piece.
this can be replaced easily enough

This has put me off one cause we have one of them old ones where you have to replace the fuse.

Yes ive posted on the customer support forums, and repackaged the extension lead. However it is a bit of a hassle having to post it back :(

I think i will have to get one of these, as long as they are accurate. would be nice to see exactly what im paying to play.

I think we need a power meter thread where people can post how much power there PC draws in idle and under load so we can compare :D

(in other words, do all the work so I don't have to buy a meter! :p)

Some nice looking products. One question before I buy: what is the equipment protection policy on these and does it cover computers? (most tend not to)

Power meter arrived, nice and compact:

So far I have only checked general usage/idle power consumption of my Q6600 system with the power meter:

[email protected]
single 5850
4 case fans (2 x 200mm, 120mm, 140mm)
HAF922 case
sony optiarc optical drive
3 x HDDs
2 x akasa viper fans
2 x 2GB kingston ddr2 1066Mhz ram
2x LED 12inch red tubes
sony sdm-hs53 monitor
logitech x-210 speakers system
ocz modxstream 600w

The average idle/general usage power consumption is: 167W

I am sure gaming wise it may be double but will report back next time. Even at idle I was thinking of around 300W but it is actually almost half :)
