That WD 500GB M.2 drive has terrible speeds only matching a typical SATA SSD. Don't know why you mentioned it.

Because it's a large amount at a price hat good , well not good, one of the cheapest , and will be going up a bit by the next quarter at least .
Again Ive stated I do use NVMe drives and large ones but I got them cheaper then norm and even still, silly money but I was ok with it, others rather have max storage and max GPU with the cash :)

Hmm, better to choose one of these:

But buy the SSD somewhere else so you get Assassins Creed: Origins for free
http://www.samsung.com/uk/offer/assassinscreedorigin/

This case comes with both fans at the front, but if you move 1 to the back you'll have better airflow.

If you wanted to use up that extra 200 budget, get a 1080 instead of the 1060. Very large performance leap, and you get Destiny 2 for free:

This would run basically everything at 1080p/144hz.

You can find 1080's with better coolers for the same price if you shop around, such as the Zotac AMP for 479

i thought the item that just shows the cpu image came without cooler? if they all have coolers then yeah no point buying another one lol.

The OEM CPU's don't come with a cooler or a box. The cooler that comes with the retail 8400's is okay though. Unfortunately there is only OEM stock, so I've had to add a cooler. Had to make an edit.

ha thats why i added the cooler, theres plenty of the i3/i5/i7 K processors with coolers in stock, just not for budget.

this is more than enough to run CS:GO and at very high FPS, havent looked at the other posts, but probably more overkill.

All are Intel 8400 or Ryzen 1600.

To be honest, just needs Ryzen 1400 or Intel i3 8100 and a gtx 1050ti and will fly ..

CS:GO most popular card is still the 750Ti

@Blindeagle if you want to save £250 odd which is quite a bit, will find the system fine and easily open to upgrading in future

Intel system is a bit more closed off

Would actually use the cash for a 144hz G-sync monitor haha

Actually, one test with the recommended above

If you do intended to game with other games currently or in future, gtx 1060 and Ryzen 1600 update on the above list. 3GB would be fine to be honest if you want to save cash

Why wasting the M.2 slot for this slow drive?

Real world gaming you'll notice no difference between an SSD and NVMe . Windows boot time, just enable quick boot for an SSD .
Playing CS:GO, rather have a fast net speed and a HDD, that's the edge over playing the game, hardly any load time .
Having installed 3rd m.2 drive this week, it's so much easier and nice :)
If user was going to install some heavy software , then damn straight it can make a difference :D or if you've got the cash for enough , but for a Rig to play CS:GO and I'm guessing like minded games such as PUBG will be added to this little gem, £640 rig will fly at the game in question . Wil a damn sight faster then a console for sure :D

speed of a ssd doesnt really improve gaming performance, i never noticed on older games and reviews you see in writing or youtube videos suggest for benchmark software or just benchmarks in general they add a slight improvement, so given whats being asked of, im pretty sure the slow drive will suffice dont you think?

all systems suggested are overkill for that game anyways, while im sure having 300 fps is nice, any decent system will run it from 60 minimum which is plenty.

M.2 drives are popular with their superior speeds of 3000MB/s reads and over 1000 MB/s writes.
Just don't waste the limited resources with this slow SSD !

Doesn't matter if there is subjectively no difference. Tomorrow, the guy might decide that he wants the Samsung 960 EVO M.2 and he will have to throw the old M.2 drive away.
Still can't see why you recommend WD at all.
