That is the sound issue that plagues the new 680i boards. I discovered it the day of release, it only occurs when you enable SLI, EVGA and Nvidia are in contact with me and are working on a solution. It affects many games, FEAR, BF2142, CoH etc.

Your only solution for now is to disable SLI (you'll need to reinstall the drivers as the 97.02's bug out when you disable SLI and give you awful performance) and run with just one card or put up with the bad sound, CoH is ok but some games it actually distorts so badly it hurts.
 
that as shame, you spend all that money and its not perfect... Hope they sort out your drivers soon.

Hey, awesome rig, you have really tempted me into buying a 24 inch Dell - damn you!

if i were you I'd be tempted to overclock that X6800 as at stock it might be holding back those dual 8800GTX's. It's very easy to do - especially with the unlocked multi on the x6800 - and you should be able to get 3.6ghz no problem. What cooler are you using?

On the RAM front, you might want to consider the Geil 2gb Kit as it overclocks very well, is half the price of the dominator stuff and in stock. You could probably get away with running your current ram at a 3:4 ratio giving you a little extra memory bandwidth.

If he's going to overclock, I wouldnt of bought the X6800 because at the end of the day a E6600 for £200ish will do 3.4 to 3.6ghz & save between £200 to £480 depending on where you bought it from of course.

Cracking rig that, by the way id edit all that swearing out, even if its disguised as its not allowed, and to heman and the rest who are mentioning that other machine, its a competitor and not allowed either. ;)
 
Erm Half-life 2 wont play its all artifactiy crazy lines like an overheating problem temp is 64 on the cards could they have gone faulty? all i have done is disable sli so i could play without distorted sound but decided 1 card wasnt good enough at high res so i reneabled sli restarted me puter and its still exaclty the same it wont even entertain medieval2 total war it turned to a low framerate fest even 05 benchmark etc can anyone help?
 
Wouldnt call him rich m8t...just came into some money...Some people spend money on going out every nite..Or Cloths...This lad decided 2 get a powerfull calculator.....

Nice one [ui]ICEMAN :) i totally removed the hardware via device manager, and add/remove progs, so it would detect the cards again and reinstalled the factory drivers, also reinstalled the mobo drivers and everything is fine still only running on one card to avoid the sound issues but its very sweet even on the one card :)
