New ROBOCOP

i did enjoy it but once again a film that really should have had an 18 cerf was watered down in tone and contain so that it fits the 12a cerf. it really ticks me off when they butcher film's so that they can have a 12a cerf when in fact they would have most likely look a hell of a lot better with the extra contain in tone and feel that is an 15 or 18 cerf.

The silver livery doesnt look bad.
The black suit makes RoboCop look like a normal man wearing black armour.
I actually think that Peter Weller's RoboCop looked more freaky, which is strange given that in 2014, they use CGI to create the impossible.

ED209 looks pretty damn good in the new version. That's the one thing which they did better than the original version.

That, and Weller really took the role seriously, not a parody or some cheesy flick, he took the role as a serious thing, his body movements in the suit I have never seen equalled on screen.

Yep. Those movements are incredible.

Nothing will touch the original Robocop film. It had it all for a film of that time..

I'll watch the remake just out of curiosity but my guess is that it'll fall flat just like Miami Vice did when it was released in 2006.

It was freaky, I would have LOVED the scene they had in tended about how the removed his face to place it over what was meant to be a terminator-esque looking front part of the skull.
Their was a heavy Frankenstein theme for me in how it look like he was pieced together.

Just got back from seeing the reboot. It's ok.
Wait for the rentals tbh.

This was a 20:15 screening in the middle of birmingham and there was about 15 people in there. Not looking good.

Few good moments, and a couple of interesting points raised about what makes a human, but it's mainy lots of sparkles sprinked on a poop. Much to much quick cut jerk-o-vision in it too. Stedi-cams were invested for a reason.

Oh, and it's really missing a bad guy. RoboCop had Kirkwood Smith. Roboplop has.... errr..... sod all. Oh, and Sam Jackson just decided to do one character in all his films now no matter what the role is?

On the plus side, it was good to see the original RoboCop armour, if even only for a couple of seconds. Made the current armour look like, well, a rubber suit.

Just got back from seeing this. I felt disappointed, overall it just felt rushed and watered down. It had some positives for sure but I felt these were too few and far between, big shame really. Have to say though that the black armour doesn't look as bad as it does in photos.

Yep. Those movements are incredible.

Do you know, I have just considered his movements. In all the years since watching and rewatching Robocop, I never considered it was an actor making the robotic servo assisted movements. It just seemed like Robocop.
Actually quite incredible really. Yes, very well done original cop.

Its funny as originally Weller had worked with a mime artists for many months, and they had worked on a more snake like fluid motion for it, but when Weller put the suit on it was so boxy and limited they had to scrap that, he had about 2 weeks to learn and com up with something else, Verhoven actually said he was very sorry for having to force Weller 48hrs after into making him go on set to start filming with very little practise in the actual full suit.

When your complaining about how bad these remakes are could does mean we are just that old ?

Cos I do it on every single one lol

Total recall remake was nothing without arnie, but the new one was saved thru Kate beckinsale who is stupidly hot :)

Nope! The proof? The Batman remakes. These other remakes really ARE cack, you can relax!

It is nowhere near as bad as the trailer makes it seem. I liked it as it took a different approach to the original. Gary Oldman is again incredible. It would say it had potential, but it did need an additional bad guy as such.

Still, far better than total recall or any of the tf movies!

Saw it tonight

Its weaksauce, No Badguys as such "boring gunfights" (is that even possible ???)

ED209 weak

The film gets terrible after about the first 1/3rd in - by 3/4s I didnt really care how it ended, I was just thankful it did.

Its not even good as a one off film tbh.

It was well directed and cinematicaly ok/decent but badly edited and i think interfered with badly.

I ended up hating his family/ i laughed at the heart felt bits, i hates the guy in the army power suit, he was a joke like the SA guy in Elysium.

terrible film... i think robocop 3 was better, seriously.
