New ROBOCOP

I hope the makers of this do a better job with this than those who made the recent Total Recall film. Although, after hearing that most of Padilha's ideas are being rejected, I'm not holding my breath that this will be much good.

That's because in the 80s they actually had to make stuff look good whereas now everything is touched up via CGI.

Like teenagers and spelling, film makers are getting lazier.

This shouldn't really surprise anyone.

Yes we have better CGI these days, but that's about it. A lot of 80s films are still unmatched today. Especially for Sci-Fi, where we have Aliens, Terminator, 2010 etc.

And don't get me started on modern script writing, which is painfully bad at times.
 
Oh god, this is painful. The original is one of my faves :( It actually gets better with age too, in my opinion. The effects are ropey, but they have so much character. The music is awesome, the dialogue is just one gloriously cheesy line after another.

Might have a Robocop and Total Recall double-header tonight actually :cool:

EDIT: Having read the above link, I think that its only hope is to suck SO badly that it takes on cult status!

An M1 being destroyed by 0.50 caliber machine guns?? Really?? I also really doubt that a 120MM APFSDS round would have no effect too,especially if fired at blank range.

It seems the new ED209 is firing unobtanium bullets and has unobtanium armour.

it does also have missiles.

and that clip may have been done at a different time to the quick captio non the specs so has differnt weapons/weapons not available for the polcie version.

also how do you know it's a kinetic penetrator it could be a heat warhead which would indeed be defeated by the reactive armour of the ED

or as has been said it's a terribly false OCP comercial where the ED is shown to be unrealisticaly amazing but really sucks balls.

:confused: It's a cheesy sci-fi movie....realism isn't necessary.....put Call of Battlefield down and get some fresh air :)
 
Why do all these suits have to have pec implants added to them? They remind of the fancy dress consumes you can get where you end up with a 6 pack and pecks...
