NEW RTX 3060

Sorry I’m new here, I have a Ryzen 7 2700x, do I buy a 2060 super now or pair this with the new ones coming out

You'd have to be barking to buy a 2 series card new now, with the 3 series cards imminent.

I guess your right my man, especially when that 3060 is meant to out perform a 2080ti 1k cheaper... could my Ryzen 7 2700 handle the new 3060 if I got one? And I’m also running stock fans for the cpu and exhaust case fans. What would you recommend. Is it ok or do I splash on the good old brown noctua’s

Your 2700 will be fine, every modern game I run is GPU bound, and I'm running an ancient X5650 hex-core, albeit at 4.4Ghz.

Your other question depends on whether you feel your CPU is running too hot, I guess.

I mean I haven’t tested it properly yet, I guess I could always get one if it’s too toasty, thanks bud

Your 2700x is a very capable CPU, definitely don't need to upgrade it. As for 2060 Super - wait. We will likely see the RTX 3060 before November which is going to be much faster than the 2060 Super while also costing around $299-$349.

Ok I’ll wait it out even tho I am very eager to kill stuff soon, I’d rather do it with a new hen gou thanks for the advice, on my profile I have my whole setup can you see if there is anything else wrong please?

It's the RTX 3070 that's supposed to outperform a 2080ti (according to nVIDIA promo materials ;)). I don't think we've been given a quantified performance estimate for the RTX 3060 yet, have we?

No, but this been mostly accurate so you can use that as an idea (ignoring pricing):

Your build is solid. Btw, use @ username so that people know you asked something and they receive notification (or quote them). eg @Alex867

That chart makes the 3080 look like such a good buy, especially when you know it’s actually £150 cheaper than the prediction.

3060...

announced yet?

are we presuming this is a further cutdown GA104, or a nearly fully enabled GA106.

Not announced yet. It would be a GA106 chip, supposedly 1920 CUDA Cores, or rather 3840 Cores now.

Absolutely. And in fact I was being conservative with it thinking that looked optimistic even. Hard to believe reality turned out so much better. :D
