New scam

most people aren't trained to spot it though, how many people in a shop ever got change and checked the notes? then you got outside and realise you were handed a Scottish fiver etc

I assume that you mean that if you were handed three fivers in your change after tendering a £20 note and you didn’t notice straight away that one was Scottish, then you’re hardly going to notice if you were given a snide note.
On the other hand, there’s nothing wrong with Scottish notes, except that maybe a snide one would not so easily be spotted by an English person who doesn’t often see Scottish notes.
I’d like a big sack of them, I used to take them all day long in my taxi, but I’d only give them in change to a Scot, lots of English people looked at them as if they were Vietnamese dong!

it is if the OP thinks he's giving it to someone in need, when in reality they are selfish greedy people.

I'd say yes then KO every one on my doorstep for being parasites.... if I could get away with it

He said nothing about giving it away to someone in need and none of the replies he posted suggest that either.

People who give things away like old washing machines usually just want rid and it's easier to get someone else to take it away than dispose of it yourself. They're not interested in what happens after that.

Its when you get people who say yes to the free item but then give you a sob story and want you to deliver it for free as well. Or turn up and complain about something minor wrong with the free item and get abusive because you have wasted their time
