New SkyQ offer for NEW Customers

Not sur eif this is the correct place to post but here goes.

I have got a 60 inch 4k ultrahd comming, due to a insurance claim. anyhow i digress. to get the sky Q silver package do you have to have sky broadband or can i use it with my current one bt.

To confuse things we do currently have sky tv phone and broadband package. atm but its only the slow adsl, would i have to use the silver package with that, its only 2mb(my backup internet, it was free basicly).

We currently pay i think its £47 a month for our current sky package.

Cheers

You can use any broadband provider but only Sky broadband uses the wifi hotspot capability of the Q boxes.

Surely just restricting trust access to those who've been registered for a certain time and have reached a certain post count would suffice?

I've asked and it doesn't seem possible. The two options are to either continue as the guys are doing now and manually check each member or move everything to MM.

Thanks for the post, its just im sure i read somewhere in a reviewer stated that there was a penalty or something for using non sky broadband ie you had to pay more for the player something like £250-£450 and if you did not have the mini q box.
the article was found by googling sky q silver what it will cost , somthing like that, it was a prety big article.
obviously things can change, was just curious

cheers

The way I see it, you're fine, you've been a member for a very long time. It's the 'other' guys that sign up purely to get a code. Or it seems that way anyway.

The other options I thought of were limiting the trust system to a certain post count/time limit (not possible on the current forum software apparently) or, as someone suggested, moving these threads to the MM.

:) Have received the code - thank-you Adam, much appreciated.

MissChief - I am also going to try to become more active as well, I've certainly spent enough time on the forum, most recently scouring the hardware section for advice on the best components when specifying my new Gaming Rig.

A site like this gives to members. Advice, deals and banter. And while we don't always agree I think having a go at a person that's just joined the site unfair.

We all stumble on websites and on occasions find something to our advantage. Let him have the code if the member wants to give it. Enjoy it :)

They join. 1st post is "can i have a code"? Then you never see them again.

I'll keep my codes for long standing members..

Thanks for the support:) however I don't think it will help me this time. Hopefully I will not always be classed as the newbie:)

Quick question - previously I use a 50% code, cancel it after 12 months, then on the same day my missus re-joins as a new customer with a new code.
I have a Sky Q code that I'm trying to use having cancelled Sky today, however the website is saying that as we've previously had Sky at this address that there's a problem and I need to call up.
Do sky count 12 months from the date you action the cancellation or the date that it actually gets cut off? I swear before it was action date but maybe that's changed?

For people with £25 for the complete package. Check your account, if you click on u upgrade to Sky Q, you can get the Silver for £37 for the complete package +30 setup fee. Wow, theyre really pushing it. So tempted with this price but no 4k TV

Right so my contract restarted in February. I think it's 50% off as far as I am aware. Anyway, I see the offer to upgrade which will raise my bill by £12. Perfectly happy to do this. This will of course extend my contract by 12 months from now. BUT will my current 50% offer be carried for the entirety of those 12 months or will the rest of my package to go full price after February? If the latter I think I'll sadly just have to wait it out until the end of my contract.

This offer is for new customers only? Also unless your offer is specifically on Movies and Sports only upgrading will remove the offer.
