Purchased another SSD just before Christmas from the MM. Its been sitting on the side since Christmas day waiting for time to install away from my other commitments.
Finally last night, (I say finally as I had purchased some STEAM games and could not install them due to low disk space!) I managed to find time to install the new drive.
The fitting was easy, I plugged into a spare SATA port on the board. Power was tricky, I have a modular PSU and needed to fit a lead to power the drive. This meant cable clutter, so I opted for a molex to SATA power connector instead. It took me a few mins to find one from all my pc bits!
My pc is always set up as C: being the OS and applications install only. D: Drive is then my STEAM drive.
C: was a Samsung SSD 64gb 90/70
D: was 2x Samsung SSD 64gb 90/70 in RAID0 (striped)
First I benchmarked all of the drives using Crystal Hard drive benchmark. More for my own amusment as I wanted to see what I was gaining. Results below.
In the picture attached you see;
1 - The single OS on a Samsung SSD 64gb 90/70
2 - The 2x Samsung SSD 64gb 90/70 in RAID0 (striped) with my STEAM games installed.
3 - The new and fresh Supertalent 128gb FTM28GX25H that has just been formatted.
4 - The newly created 3x Samsung SSD 64gb 90/70 in RAID0 (striped) with STEAM games installed.
5 - The new single OS on the Supertalent 128gb FTM28GX25H.
