NEW STEAM DEALS!!!!

What do you like about it in particular?

It's hard to describe.
Imagine Diablo singleplayer, with all the improvements that came with Diablo 2 and expansions, but with most of the time-consuming stuff stripped away. And a pet cat that breathes cones of cold and summons skeletons!

It's a game you can start up and play for just a few minutes, or spend all night on it.

The inventory works very well, you get lots and lots of treasure, the action is fast and furious, and it has at least two neat innovations:

Shared Stash: in town, you have one chest to store personal items, and you have a second chest that is available to all your characters. You if you play a fighter and keep getting mage equipment, dump them in the shared stash and when you load up your mage, he can grab that gear.
This feature is very useful.

Pet: the pet has two very handy uses:
1) you can give him two spells, and he'll cast these on his own without you needing to activate it. Having him summon skeletonms and blast fireballs or whatever is a very handy aid.
2) the pet has an inventory, so you can give him useless stuff, then send him back to town to sell it for you while you are wandering - cutting down on time that would be otherwise wasted.
Also, the pet never dies - if it gets badly injured it just runs away till it recovers.
You can also find magic fish that when fed to the pet, turn it into a monster with increased abilities for 2 minutes. Some nifty stuff.

Anyone think COD:MW2 will be on a Steam offer??
I personally doubt it. Activision will want a much money as possible so they can then spend even less on the PC version of the next game!

Not a chance, this sale seems similar to the last one in that they had a great deal on the first day and everything after seems somewhat lacking, if MW2 was to have any sort of worthwhile deal on, it would have been the big day 1 deal. You might get 25% off but that'd probably still leave it more expensive than etailers.

I want resident evil 5 and Wanted but they are expensive on steam and everywhere else From £4.98 - £9.98 but sold out.. :(

If you have a gamepad of somekind then yes, otherwise I'd steer clear. I only played through once but it was a heck of a lot of fun and great stress release :D

Why do you say that? I thought it worked much better with mouse and keyboard. You had to turn vsync on for the mouse look to be consistent though for some reason.

Anyone suddenly getting full speed on downloads now?

I've suddently had full speed for the past 2 or 3 hours without any drops in speed. :)

I'm still playing DA:O, don't know whether it is worth getting another RPG before i complete it. The graphics look really terrible on Torchlight too.

Was tempted to get SF4 from D2D. Can't decide.
Want Dirt2 and L4D2 as well :(

Yeah its taking the ****. Its been on offer twice in the last month at 50% off so i bought it last weekend at half price, now its at 75%

Anyone who even remotely liked Diablo should buy it at that price imo. Hell you should buy it even if you didn't.

The graphics on Torchlight aren't supposed to push the bar up, they look good enough to be enjoyable. At first i didn't think i'd enjoy it but i keep coming back to it. A huge advantage over Diablo is you can literally save it anywhere and you'll reload to that exact spot, unlike Diablo where you reappeared in town with everything alive. Its great to jump on every now and then even for only a few minutes.

I get the feeling it will be a 10-25% offer on the final day. Let everyone buy it just after Christmas for full price, and then let those who would impulse buy it pick it up a little bit cheaper.

Bought Torchlight, thought the demo was average but at £3.75 I felt like giving it another go. So glad I did :D.

It's a great way to sell....

Get loads of people to buy it at the 50% off price and then get all the people that wasn't interested in it at the 50% off price to buy it for 75% off....(like me ;))
