NEW STEAM DEALS!!!!

I wish I could get cable at my place. It took me 3 months to get BT to give me the 8Mb my line's capable of, they were varying between 0.5-2Mb before then. No plans to unbundle my exchange, and certainly no need to lay cables - why the hell can't people in this stupid town be a little more aware of technology?

Still, as long as I don't dare access the web between 3 in the afternoon and midnight, I get better speeds than anyone else in my area, so I guess I should be thankful that I, at least, don't dribble into my metaphorical cereal when it comes to networking know-how.

There are very few things I wouldn't pay 50p for, even if I knew they were terrible. I've never even heard of this game before, so I might as well give it a shot. After all, what's 59p? I'd feel ashamed giving that amount of money to a hobo.

Why would you pay anything for something which is terrible... now if there wasn't a demo I could see your point, but there is (and it's only small).

....on my 50MB Virgin Broadband and 17 hours later , i think i may be able to play Burnout Paradise today :D

Strange, i'm getting 400-450kb/s on 8mb broadband.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but if you are getting a slow download speed then try switching the server you download from.

You can do this by going to: file > settings > downloads.

Just change the download region on this page, I tend to alternate between UK, USA and New Zealand (Sweden is also a good one to try) depending on the time in each of these areas - this sort of time (17:40), the UK server is obviously going to be quite busy, so just try another.

cool switched to Sweden and jumped from 280kbs to 1.4Mbs :)

i've already spent far too much money on Steam over the past 4-5 weeks, im dreading paying my cc bill on the 1st.

But Burnout Paradise £5 and Killing Floor for £4 are very tempting.

I also completed Bioshock on the 360 when it was released but im tempted to play it in its full graphical glory on my PC - can someone confirm if its the PC version is a console port or not? i cant be bothered buying it if its another port.

Don't think it's a console port, even if it is it has all the settings that should be there for a regular PC game and it's interface is not "consoley".

I've just got Burnout Paradise, on top of Defense Grid, Dragon Age and Torchlight. Where am I going to get the time to play these :/

I'd get the orange box, but the only thing I need it for is Portal. Right now it's cheaper to get the full box than to buy Portal on its own but I'm still hoping to get it cheaper - am I wrong in thinking the orange box only contains HL2, i.e. not HL, OF, BS etc?
